The thing I'll go out on here isn't that Texas isn't "supporting" men's basketball enough, but rather that CDC doesn't know basketball. Maybe it wasn't his decision to fire Beard. Maybe he was pushed into hiring Terry. Doesn't matter in the end. Two big mistakes. 

The silver lining to our Horns getting blown out by 0-13 last place South Carolina in late February is that it’s no longer a debate for CDC.   RT is a very nice guy but he is not up to the ‘standard’ at UT.   It’s time for change in the head coach at UT.  Don’t wait.   Pull the trigger this next week, install interim HC and get ahead of the coaching search by starting now: 

In CDC’s interview with @Bobby Burton yesterday, CDC used the analogy of being the captain of an aircraft carrier versus a motor boat on the lake.   Both float and have a motor but it takes a different level of talent to be the captain of the Texas Longhorn aircraft carrier in each sport.   Texas Longhorns deserve better.   The past several years have been painful following the Great 8 run.    It’s time to move forward.   With the right coach, we can begin to have reason for optimism next season.   

im looking forward to seeing how CDC decides to proceed with upgrading the coaching in men’s basketball.

Texas doesn’t deserve anything. No one is entitled. Yall act like Texas has a great basketball history. Terry is about where we’ve been overall as a program. No one has been the answer and hasn’t shown that he can be but the tone of the comments towards Strong, Shaka and Terry when they’ve not been successful is revealing in itself. 

Yall still suckling at the teat of beard are an embarrassment. All of us are responsible for our own actions. Period. But as long as he can win games, amirite?

The no NIL excuse came from a different board from a writer with no sources who is consistently wrong. Then it was latched onto by a few RT truthers who like to pretend to know more than everyone else but are just regurgitating false info. It’s not true. RT doesn’t have the support that a coach who donors believed in would, but he is absolutely supported.

Beard was fired on January 5th.  Someone had to coach that team to the Elite 8.  Like it or not, that coach was Rodney Terry.

FACT: CDC knows basketball and he personally prefers to watch the sport of basketball over all other sports.

Rodney Terry was way down the list of candidates.

Was that ever proven? Last I chekced, Sark had problems in the past that wouldn't look good for teenagers or young adults. How many angels coach college basketball?
