It’s everyone’s right to comment here. So by all means continue to do so. It’s my fault I should have just not responded. I should have just moved on. 

To be honest we actually played pretty well tonight on the road after two Top 25 wins. We weren’t taking horrible shots and actually had a pretty nice offensive night. If they can play like that and not like the 1H of A&M and Florida we will be ok and peel off some solid wins to make the tournament. Tre hits that game winner 7/10 times, move on and keep playing hard. 

Beard was 0-5 on the road against ranked teams in his tenure here.  Just saying.

His victory against Alabama a few weeks ago was his first ranked road win since.....2021 against Texas when he was at Tech.

We have 10 games left in the regular season.  Pomeroy likes us slightly better now than he did this morning.  He either favors us or has us in a one possession game in 9 of our remaining 10 games.

We have Kaluma back.  That's really big for us, even if he brain farted a couple of possessions tonight.

I'm not a Beterriliever.  OK, that didn't work even remotely as a joke, but the point remains that this team can go either way.  Get it to full strength, and maybe we have something.  Maybe we don't.

I'm going to root for wins.

Sucks to lose the game, but man they put in a great effort on the road against a really well coached team, who is ranked. Seemed more like we hurt ourselves than Ole Miss just straight up beating us, if that makes sense? We had plenty of chances to take this game over and just bricked every time.

Anyway, great effort from the boys. 

My undefeated prediction in conference play didn’t last long

Terry's offense sucks - it doesn't put players in spots to do what they do best enough.

His preferred tempo sucks - too slow. I haven't looked at KenPom today, but we were in the 200s last I checked.

His defense doesn't suck, but it's not great either. 

Terry is running a team in the bottom half (bottom third?) of its conference by any measure. 

I am a donor and I like him, but I do not like that he's the head coach. I don't see much reason for optimism.

Glad they were extremely competitive against a very good Ole Miss team away from Austin.  Happy they are turning the corner.

Frank Haith runs the offense, but yes it ends with Terry. They run iso, which makes the ball stick, because they have no point guard. Tre makes the decision to not use the pick. The guards and Kent are allowing themselves to be pushed out to mid court when they have the ball. Winning two of three against ranked teams is a reason for optimism. All the offensive rebounds they got in the first half are a reason for optimism. Watching Pryor develop (Rt can’t develop anyone) is a reason for optimism. The only difference between A&M’s performance against Ole Miss and Texas performance is they hit the last shot. They trailed Ol Miss the entire game. Ol Miss beat Alabama at home. There are lots of reasons for optimism.

It’s where I am at too. I have a lot of the same concerns as you but I see signs of a team developing. It still could go either way though. One game at a time.

I don't want to act like I don't see good things. They are just too few and far between. Some of the issues you mentioned above are reasons I don't like Terry having the HC. He could change things. He could teach differently. He could implement different game plans, rotations, etc. 

Pryor needs more minutes.

This is what puzzles me and frustrates me when it comes to college hoops fans. Ole Miss is ranked pretty much across the board in the low to mid-20 in polls and metrics. Texas is just a little below, but close. High D-I basketball is extremely competitive. What does "very average" really mean to you?

This team is not awesome, but it's solidly competitive in the SEC and will make the tournament if it continues to play as it has the last couple of weeks.

LSU is a difficult hurdle IMO. A couple of weeks ago, Texas beat OU in a very late slot on a Wednesday, took a mandatory day off on Thursday, had one practice before leaving for Florida, and ran out of gas late. LSU isn't as good as UF but the timing again is bad if they have to take the day off today.

I saw that one of the bracketebazookies actually promoted Texas from a 10 to a 9 seed after last night.

About this... if it were a really bad loss, it would have shown up in the metrics this morning. It didn't.

Can’t post NIL from 247 sports word for word because we are on OTF so here it is in a nutshell. Longhorns spend 3.4 million. Not the four or four and a half million that’s been loosely mentioned. They are seventh in the SEC in spending and Mississippi State outspends Texas. Yes Mississippi State. So if you pay Tre and Toppin you are already over the budget. Then you have to get the rest of the team for free.

Now if only that’s what I meant you’d be spot on.  What would the metrics have said if it was a win?  Would a road conference win have helped our chances on the bubble?
