A quick look at the snap counts for the Longhorns after their 2OT victory over Arizona State in the Peach Bowl.

– Texas wanted to get bigger in the box against ASU, hence why there was double the Jelani McDonald snaps vs. Jaylon Guilbeau.

– Mukuba and Barron each over 100 snaps on Wednesday.

– Most snaps of the season for Broughton, Norton, Lole and Collins.

Offensive Snap Count

Out of 63 possible snaps.

One of the most important stats that is often overlooked that generally tells you the story of the game.

What's up with Alex January not getting into the game? With 90 snaps, I thought we'd see more of a guy we really, really need next year.

We needed to rely on experience

On key downs, sure. But there were 90 snaps and Texas was firmly in control for the first 3 quarters. You'd think he'd get at least a few snaps.

People crapped on Hunter getting the Heisman because of snap count, but I just looked it up and he averaged 113 per game. As gassed as our entire D looked, no one was within 10 snaps of that. Not sure if it’s Heisman worthy but damn impressive.

Arizona State had –

• 15:48 more time of possession

• Ran 37 more plays than Texas

• More tackles for loss (8-6)

... and lost.

Damn!! That feels like our stat lines from a few years ago with David Ash, save the offensive production lol.

Wondering same thing. Especially in this game where defense played over 100 snaps. Not just the experience, but we were definitely getting worn out.
