Wake Forest head coach Jake Dickert has nabbed Texas special assistant Scottie Hazelton off of the Texas coaching staff and named him the Demon Deacons new defensive coordinator.

The move was rumored last week and made official earlier Friday morning.

Hazelton had previously been a defensive coordinator at Kansas State and Michigan State before joining Steve Sarkisian's staff for the 2024 campaign.

Best of luck to Coach Hazelton next fall.

Is he expected to stay through playoffs, work at both locations, or immediately head there?

The guy is a good coach. Best of luck to him

I would hope he stays during this run.  Crazy not to in my opinion

Looks like Sark has taken over the Saban Re-ignition program for coaches to help further their careers after working in a quality program.

Word from UT is he will not stay with the team. Already headed to WF. Wish he would have as well, but being a DC with the portal , and other responsibilities it makes sense. Wish him the best !

Sark has been brilliant at bringing in special assistants to help us continue to improve.  Wish Coach Scottie the best at WF.
