I would not pursue Micah Hudson.  And a reminder, Texas prioritized Wingo over him the first time.

I'm waiting on 3-4 DL names to drop in the portal. If they do, Texas will have serious interest.

  • He will take some time to make a decision. In regards to Texas, I bet they kick the tires, but I don't think if they will go all out for him. Look at who Texas has pursued at WR in the portal und

Can players transfer within the SEC? Could have sworn there was some rule against it.

Yes if they enter the transfer portal during the Winter portal opening.

They cannot if they enter the portal in the Spring portal.

WOw.

This is crazy, CJ. What kind of offense are they going to run in their bowl game? Lol.

Just Hawkins versus the defense. Same game plan as Texas lol. Actually turns out OU I’m trying to start a trend will just play defense on offense. Danny Stutsman will be taking that extra dose of roids to get jacked upfront task of leading the O and D 😂😂😂

Any word on Colton Vasek? I know he’s been out but wondering what’s going on with him? Would love to get him back for playoffs!!

I think Davis is a take, but our DB room is stacked with talent. I'm not sure Johnson is an upgrade over anything we have, except playing time?

He's banged up, needs to get healthy.

My question is, would we prefer Dalton Johnson or Dillon Thieneman at safety?

Personally, Thieneman is better.

Help me out here...we will need at minimum 4 portal DL? As Sydir enters we show basically nothing left, by my calculations we will have January and Mills with experience. It seems like we should begin serious looks because we need some depth!

I think the staff knows this, the problem is there are no big time DL in the portal. You could kick the tires on Silver from Kentucky but who else is there? Plus when you narrow it down, Texas is looking for bigger bodies, which instantly narrows that group down drastically.

I think Gerry or CJ talked about this, but you want two high productive guys, etc. Then add 1 or 2 rotational type players. Don't forget the staff isn't quick to jump on anyone, last year it was a week after the portal opened before they even signed anyone.

Was going to post this, not sure that's a great deal for Houston, but who knows maybe with some different leadership he'll fix himself up.....bruh...okay, that just feels weird to even type out, lol.

Castellano going to Florida State was weird, considering what a dumpster fire it is.

Williams coming off an ACL, Ttaaffee potentially leaving, Mukuba will be gone….need experience back there

Sure, but at some point you need to trust the guys you've recruited. There is so much talent there. I understand wanting the experience, but I'd be fine rolling with the dudes we've got. Otherwise what is the point of recruiting these guys?

You can’t tell me our Longhorn DLs aren’t being poached by other teams!!  Imagine…Longhorns have the #1 defense in the country.  This happened because of careful development and Coaching at Texas.

what team wouldn’t want DLs from Texas who are almost fully developed and just waiting for playing time?  If a team has the NIL to pay for them, and if DLs/DTs are considered premium players of need thru the portal, then this may explain why Texas is losing several of them thru the portal, right?

Other teams go through this as well. Texas has done a great job in player retention.

In the transfer portal era there is no excuse to be inexperienced.

Regarding Derek Williams, his injury happened in October so I'd say we could probably expect him back about October to November to be fully recovered and able to play(judging off Brooks timeline).

Jelani McDonald is the only player potentially going into next year with good game experience.

"The dudes we got" looks like this(Assuming Ttaaffee goes pro):

The guys who have left are not good.

I think not good is a bit unfair.  Their skillset is relative - they weren't good enough to break into the lineup for Texas, but they are likely plenty good enough to break into the lineup for a large majority of schools outside of the small handful of elite programs.
