Deer hunting….

Featured Replies

Well, I'm a little different as I live out west.  Won't be doing anymore deer hunting this year, but I'm leaving tomorrow to take my son out for a cow elk hunt and then I have a late season cow elk hunt as well.  First year in quite a while that I haven't put any deer or elk in the freezer yet, so I'm really hoping for one of these 2 hunts to work out. Good luck to everyone hunting.  There are times I miss those Texas whitetails, but when you see your son put a nice elk on the ground like I did last year, it's hard to go back!

Gonna be in search of a mule deer myself at my buddies property down in the panhandle in two weeks.

Where at?

I’ll be flying with my sons later this month to hunt for a week at our family’s place by George West.  We are so ready.

Been enamored with a mule deer for YEARS so hopefully the hunts successful. Coming down from Austin so i am going to have a bit of a drive.

A member of the deer family, hopefully close enough ... from a Yukon Territory pack trip years ago.  Won a Safari Club International award for the outfitter, the guide and myself and also made the Boone and Crockett Record Book for Mountain Caribou

We had a little luck I’d say. Nothing giant, but I did get to hammer one with my 5 and 2 year old in the stand to watch, so that was awesome. Now……..it’s time to cull a lot of does out
