Kaliq Lockett (Sachse, Texas/High) tells Hayes Fawcett that he plans to announce his decision August 7. 

Lockett, 6-2 and 175 pounds, will announce out of a final five of Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State and LSU. 

There is a belief in Austin that Texas is in the top 2 or 3 for Lockett as this recruitment narrows down further. 

Lockett has very high-end body control and catch radius. He also sports 11 inch hands.

Best pro comparison for Lockett?

I know i am prolly in a small minority because people want to flex their muscles with “three five star receivers” but id be fine with a class of DK Moore, Ffrench and kelshaun. I am just not sure there’s anything that kaliq does that french can’t do just as good or even better then him so to me they are the same type of player. 

This is a bit later than what I expected. If Lockett is the first of the top 3 WR's to verbally announce, Moore and Ffrench will be just before the start of their senior seasons. I thought two of them were going to be July announcements.

Ffrench is set for August 30 for what it is worth.

Kelshaun is MaT bound per ©Jerry.  I think that ship has sailed.  I get it...he wants to be #1 receiver, not the fourth wheel.

Kelshaun is a burner though in the Worthy mold.  Lockett has speed but more of a possession receiver.
