He should go to UTSA and play his way back up IMO.

Could see that. He’s probably counting on a big offer since the DL Stock Market is rising. 
 

Gerry does the April 30th date mean no transfers after that day or just that players cannot enter their names in the portal after that day?

Yes, but I think they effectively trap doored him in the 2023 class.  Jimbo got the early commit from Bowen, but seemed to slow communications with him over time as David Hicks (5-star DT) signed up, and particularly after the glut of 5-star DTs they already had from the buying spree in 2022 (Nolen, Stewart, GBD, Overton, Lucas).

Texas wants impact transfers, those with an NFL grade currently or potential to be an all-SEC player.  Bowens is talented, but not good enough to transfer to Texas currently.

Players must submit their name to the school’s compliance department by 11:59 pm April 30th. There’s no deadline for decision by player.

Players have till that date to enter.
