I agree.  But I would still like to have him on my team -- off the bench he might spark a win or two, and in practice, he would be a versatile asset.

A deal has two sides. Weaver would have had to agree to play less, and that didn't consider the money.  

What I will miss about a Weaver is his outstanding play in the tournament. We had multiple tournament games where he was our best player. Won't miss him in the regular season though.

Not trying to be mean to Weaver … but no he wasn’t. 

Opponents literally didn’t guard him. Texas was playing 4 on 5 on offensive end. 

Love his hustle and effort. Always loved his attitude, but he just never developed offensively.

Oh I completely agree, but there were some games where the rest of the team was afraid while Weaver played with confidence. Vs. Tennessee for example.

He does have heart as a player, but I get why we went a different direction given the offensive ineptitude.
