As part of our 100 days to kickoff countdown, each day we take a look at some of the the best Longhorns to wear that corresponding number. Today we are exactly 50 days away, so here are some of the best Horns to ever wear No. 50:

1. Bobby Wuensch - Offensive Tackle
A consensus All-American in 1970, two-time first-team All-SWC selection and co-captain of Texas’ 1970 national championship team. Wuensch was later inducted into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor.

2. Bill Wyman - Center
A consensus All-American in 1973, two-time first-team All-SWC selection and Lombardi Trophy finalist. Darrell Royal considered Wyman the best center he ever coached.

3. Cedric Woodard - Defensive Lineman
Woodard finished his Texas career with 40 tackles for loss, including 19 during the 1999 season. He was later selected by the Baltimore Ravens and played six seasons in the NFL.

4. Tyson King - Linebacker
King recorded 346 career tackles, one of the highest totals in Texas history. He led the Longhorns with 137 tackles in 1995 and was a key piece of back-to-back conference championship teams.

There is not a current No. 50 on the roster.

Nailed it with Wuensch.  Some real good history here.  Just considering the impact in his day, hard to find any horn OL better in their day.  Spoke to him around seventeen years ago at Ninfa's on Navigation.

Bobby Wuensch the poet and Bill Wyman tied. Both of them should be on the Longhorn Mt. Rushmore of O-linemen. From the era when O-linemen could not hold.

Wuensch was fun to watch.

One of the best ever at Texas.

Totally agree that these two are tied. There were some strong offensive lines during the careers of these two longhorns!

Woodard is just a notch below for me, but that’s because the other two played during my young formative years as a longhorn fan!
