Scheffler Wins The Masters

Featured Replies

Scottie Scheffler entered the final day of the Masters with a one-stroke lead. About four hours after he teed off this afternoon, he finished the tournament with a four-stroke victory, at 11-under par.

For the Dallas native and former Longhorn, it's his second major championship (he also won the 2022 Masters).

In all, six different Longhorns have won one of the four major golf tournaments, Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Mark Brooks, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw and Justin Leonard.

About to Longhorn Livestream so can't look it up ... what is the total number for colleges - The Masters? Stanford, Ohio State and Texas top 3 I assume

Gerry, I think you have the order correct except that you left out wake for us which ties the Longhorns due to Arnold winning four jackets.

Actually, Texas has 5 to Wake's 4.

Gus, I think the tweet is counting individual golfers from those schools who have won a Masters, not the total number of Green Jackets.

Otherwise Stanford and Ohio State would be way, way up there 🙂

(Anyone else glad to see a LIV free leaderboard for most of the final round?)

I know.  I was counting jackets & Stanford wins with Tiger & Tom Watson.

& I'm happy to hear there were no LIV golfers up there.

Why don’t you like LIV golfers?

Congratulations to Scottie!  He took it and put it where nobody was going to get it.

Also, @Bobby Burton, Scottie is actually a native of .... New Jersey.   He didn't move to Dallas until he was six years old, after 9/11.

yeah...he was born in the NE...but he got here as fast as he could...I'll give him resident Texas status for that
