Yall know I love aggressive baseball/softball. I love this hire. You get a guy with HC experience who’s known for his offense. THAT is what the doctor ordered, folks.

I love the coverage of women's sports!

Hey @Blake Munroe mentioned in another thread. If you have time. Would you mind putting together the baseball hs commit list and putting a percentage you think that they make it to campus.

Blake, does SE Louisiana have any really good players in the portal or a current team member (that Texas could be interested in) that might enter the portal to follow their former HC to Texas??

Not Blake, but I will chime in quickly. Fremin has lived by the "do more with less" mantra for quite some time. It would be depth pieces/competition down the road.

I’m not very knowledgeable of their roster (though I will be looking tonight and Tomm morning)… but those are exactly the type of players Texas would take in the portal at this time. Possible difference makers who are cheaper NIL wise.

Read where his wife coached there as well. Not saying we get a 2 for 1 lol. But she is she gets a role somewhere. Nothing but good reviews so far.

I am actually going to do some digging on this.

With the season over, we will definitely do that. Not only for what you mentioned, but also for the team.

You are being more active on the board and shows does Bobby have a gun to your head lol also you are muted

Another key part of this hire is that he teaches infield. BIG time infield teacher (think like Stapleton). The offense and infield both got better today.

I’d appreciate that so much!! Thank you!!

Just saw on their website she has been there 11 years. Assistant coach over player development and coaches 1st base FWIW .

He’s an accomplished head coach and it’s a great get for Mike White so why would he give up that position now to come be an assistant here?  Seems like he’d be looking for a bigger opportunity to lead a program instead.

Being a HC at a mid-major in today's NIL era really sucks

Nice time to point out that Mike White makes less than WR coach Chris Jackson.

I mean we're talking about one of the 3 big sports at Texas vs softball. I'd have a pretty large wager that Texas Football brings in more money than Texas Softball. Regardless of how good the program is.

duh?  ... but we're talking about a position coach vs. a HC that's one back-to-back national championships.

Just an interesting observation, given the OTF crew didn't seem to know White's salary relative to Patty Gasso's 2M dollar salary earlier this week.

Well that was my point. The WR coach is going to get more for a sport that pulls in more money vs a HC in a sport that doesn't. It's all relative.

Plus with Patty her base salary is only 300k, the rest of it comes from private funds. At least according to a quick google search.

Apparently their Softball program generates 4.1 million. So half their revenue is going toward the coach (hypothetically speaking). But they also spend more than they make at 7.7 million operating costs.

Anyway, I'm just blabbing on at this point and you know what I'm talking about anyway.

Thank y’all. Glad everyone loves it and happy to do it. I hope that we are the industry standard when it comes to both.

Oh y'all are. No doubt about it.
