Good move to get the OK AG to weigh in and counter the TX AG threat.  Now Yormark/B12 has no excuse not to act. 

Expect to see B12 take action this month vs TT. 

The only time in history I’m rooting for Oklahoma over Texas in anything…

Based solely on the two letters, Oklahoma is doing much better on the legal analysis sort of thing.

That is absolutely untrue.  Paxton is doing his job by advocating for a state entity that is directly affected by this scandal.  Drummond is advocating for a state entity that is indirectly affected.

How are Tech's opponents indirectly affected? If Sayin gambled on games like Sorsby and was allowed to play, I'm pretty sure that directly affects Texas. Or is gambling ok?

Paxton has no legal ground to stand on. It's not the job of an AG to blindly support a state entity. This is a Campbell money thing.

I’m talking about the legal analysis in the letters. We know it’s a political letter and we know why Paxton wrote it. But he didn’t have to write gibberish.

omg....that is literally the job description of the State Attorney General.  He is defending Texas Tech, a state entity that is abiding by a court order, against the Big 12.  

The Big 12 is demanding that a state university violate a court order.

This has nothing to do with being a Democrat or a Republican or a Longhorn or Red Raider.  This has everything to do with the (in my view) terrible ruling by the judge.  Paxton is simply doing his job, but apparently most here are too biased to see the obvious.

No it isn't. The job description is to uphold the law. There's no law in the state of Texas that says college athletes can gamble on their own team. You're very confused.

You are wrong and that’s OK. The AG’s job is to represent the state in legal matters.   Texas Tech is being pressured by the Big 12 to ignore a judge’s ruling. 

You try ignoring a judge’s ruling in your life and report back here.

It's not a ruling but rather an injunction granted pending litigation that results in a ruling.

Try citing the description in the Texas Constitution that verifies your contention that the Attorney General is required in all circumstances to defend state entities regardless of context and other state court activities, which may include other state injunctions. It seems to me you might well be an unwitting legal positivist in the tradition of Hans Kelsen.

The AG’s job is to enforce the laws of the state of Texas, which Sorsby has violated and the AG appears to have done nothing about.

C'mon man we are talking about Ken Paxton. Obviously Campbell wrote him a check here. It's not difficult to read between the lines.

I asked you cite the state constitutional basis for your claim that it's the job of the Texas AG to defend every state entity in every possible interstate legal situation. Given that I know there is no basis for the claim, I correlated it with Cliff Clavin claims. 

The Kansas AG put it nicely.
