So we should be able to throw around as much nil as we want, but Texas won't do that because its Texas. They go by the book ๐Ÿ™„

Which is so stupid at this pointย

I suppose the NCAA could rule that any game he plays in outside the judicial district of that Lubbock trial court will be a forfeiture by TT if Sorsby is suited up. ย

College sports are done if this holds. If you can bet on games you play in their will be so many games thrown. It's over.....ย

The only way that schools will be able to protect college athletics is to form a new league that excludes Texas Tech this fall. The entire college sports landscape ends if the 2026-2027 season includes players known to have bet on their own teams. It will essentially become pro wrestling. Sure there will be some fans, but outcomes will not be competitive.

And OTF needs a new sponsor if their attorney is defending the killing of college sports.

As far as I can tell, he is siding with Sorsby.ย

Yeah, Loewy is a piece of work, that's for sure. Not the good kind either.

A sad day for Sports and specifically Team Sports. In a legal manner (which is where this ended) this is an "eligibility" issue and there has been many cases contesting "eligibility"; such as, Red Shirt, Waivers, Transfers through The Portal, Grades and even conflicts with law enforcement, etc. With this news today, why not bring Patrick Mahommes back?. He has won NFL MVPs and Super Bowls., so what is left there for him? TTU and Campbell can find a judge and hey, the next thing you know Mahommes is suiting up and playing in Lubbock. I mean, why not? That would be an "eligibility" issue which The NCAA does not have a winning record in cases let alone enforcement. There are no longer any lines in College Football. None. A sad day!!!

Has anyone checked on @Bobby Burton?ย  He looked like he was going to explode this morning.

He is currently watching the Minnesota vs Wisconsin game right nowย

I don't think texas is playing fully by the book.ย  They may be saying that publically but there have been things that make me feel like texas been playing outside the lines as well.ย

1)Hollywood Smothers transferring after signing and enrolling at Alabama.ย
B) Players entering the portal with no contact clauses and signing with texas almost immediately.
4) Texas is one of the biggest spenders out there.ย  if they were playing by the book, they would stick to the $20M number.

He can do what he wants as long as he helps OTF keep the lights on.ย  Don't have to like him or support him for that.ย  Let him spend his money for our enjoyment and just know you will never actually use him for anything.

I do not like this one bit. It doesnโ€™t seem fair to the other colleges, college athletes, the fans, or the rule makers.

That being said, I still pray for the young manโ€™s soul. Thatโ€™s more important than how many football games he plays.ย

Can the NCAA just keep TT out of the playoffs. ย If they play Sorsby they ban them from Tournamentย

So how long does it take to hear from some of the Iowa state players that got banished from college sports because of the same thing? I wonder if they will try to regain some form of eligibility. Wouldnโ€™t rule it out with how insane this is getting. This is a disgrace to sports in every form

This is what happens when the country decides money and power are all that matters. This is not a political post but this is a byproduct of America in 26. We keep pretending that ignoring the rule of law and giving only the rich a voice wonโ€™t impact everything eventually. Weโ€™re reaping now but maybe weโ€™ll start to care.

Cody embodies everything wrong today. My only reply on this subject so no hammer needed.ย

This ruling today saddens me. Someone in C&F chat this morning insinuated Bijan was on the take when he fumbled in the Tech game. This tin foil hat comment pissed me off. This is the kind of crap talk that will constantly happen now anytime a player makes a mistake in a game.ย

An alcoholic shows up to work drunk repeatedly. He is fired. He files for an injunction. He is granted the injunction. The judge says he would be โ€œirreparably harmedโ€ due to the loss of income.ย

Have we lost our collective minds?

My thoughts exactly. The floodgates have been opened.

Law enforcement can just TRY to keep organized crime, Mexican and South American gangs, etc., from bribing/paying players to fix/throw the outcome of games... Under this ridiculous injunction ruling, college athletes who want to "supplement" their NIL and revenue sharing income will have ample opportunities to do that very thing. Geez.

I hope the NFL bans Sorsby just to make a point.

NCAA needs better lawyers who can go head to head against high priced attorneys funded by Billionaires (ie Campbell). ย

So far, NCAA legal team has been toothless against challenges from high priced attorneys representing college football programsย
