With Spears Jr. ... he is making a fair # in year one from what I hear. This wasn't a bargain recruitment for Texas. That was Austin Goosby who took half of what BYU was offering to be at Texas. But t

Seems like we have good reason to have a thread to chat on all summer and through the season.    Team workouts begin June 1, I believe

I do think Texas is potentially better at every position (not to start the season at SG), with one distinction ... Texas played two SF's last year and not a traditional 4 man, so they are combined.

I’m fairly old.  Not like about to die old, but old enough I’ve seen just about every high and low being a Texas fan has to offer and I’m going to say with confidence that I’ve never seen Texas basketball as stacked with talent from top to bottom as they’re right now.  Man it’s hard to fathom what Sean Miller has been able to do in a short period of time.  His only problem now is figuring out how to get everyone on the court and maximize all this talent.  I’ve not had alot of happy days watching Texas basketball but that’s about to change.  Moody needs to be packed out and let’s get behind this seemly runaway train.

Given the amount of talent that has been added to this roster this offseason, has Texas reached low Tier 1 status in basketball NIL or are they in the high Tier 2 range?

Pretty egregious stuff here from Rothstein IMO. Had us at 10 yesterday before Spears Jr and didnt move us today. Id have us at 5, but im pretty close between us and MSU. Theres just no rational way he thinks Virginia, Michigan without May or Gonzaga is better

Can they now finish the schedule with some big matchups? The noncon is solid but not challenging enough in my opinion.

I'm good with it. The SEC + ACC/SEC challenge games are more than challenging enough over a season.

I would say you won't get much more than what you have in a non-con when in the SEC and having the SEC/ACC challenge.

Probably throw one more high-level game into it.

Memphis

Georgetown

Likely UCLA

at Louisville (ACC/SEC)

+ SEC schedule

As long as Texas gets 19-20 Quad 1 games by time NCAA selection does their thing on Sunday.

I don't want a three game Maui scenario. Or Duke's non-con this year.

Michigan didn't play a truly high-end non-con last year, and it didn't hurt them. They had Wake Forest, TCU, +SDSU, Auburn & Gonzaga in tournament. They had the Duke game during conference season.

Zags just lost Mario Saint Supery to Valencia in Spain, losing their talented starting pg this late is rough

Gonzaga’s staring PG going back to Europe. Sounds like Mavs drafting Sergio De Lerra made Valencia go out and get him.

He bounced around a lot in HS. Was said to be a problem

Plug my boy here. We're a long way from the Inglewood YMCA in June 1996.

Mavs strike another blow for Che Guevarra and Bolsheviks.

Why pay money for a problem?

Jordan was winning his fourth title that year.

That's true. He was winning it while the young man (17) was performing the greatest draft workout in sports history and telling everyone he'd never back down from "black Jesus."
