Three lingering concerns about the Longhorns in 2026

Featured Replies

For me it’s gonna be

1. Penalties, no notes needed gotta get them down

2. Consistency, we seen a lot of good things last season but bad as well

3 OL play / defense, I think the ol played pretty well towards the end of the season but it will be a question until we see week 1&2. Will Muschamp is a great DC but the scheme is changing so there may be a step back until the defense gets the scheme down

The kicker and punter are up there for a concern for me. didnt read too much good stuff on them and like you said at the open practice they left alot to be desired. Kicker and punter are extremely important and need to trust them late in the season especially with the weather

We have so many bodies there.... At some point it's either play who you got or clean house. If McDonald, Williams, Filsame, Jonah, Hicks, JJR, Cunningham, and Davis isn't sufficient then that position has been extremely mishandled.

That also doesn't include the possibility of moving someone like Littleton or Mascoe there if needed.

Maybe I'm crazy but Littleton gives me a lot of Earl Thomas vibes especially under Muschamp and with the depth at corner (Black, Phillips, Roberson Matthews) and Nickel (Mascoe & Mack) I think Littleton with McDonald could help put our best 5 out there.
