2026 EDGE Damaad Lewis Remains on Texas’ Radar

Our @Gerry Hamilton broke the news earlier this week that Texas would be hosting 2026 DL Elijah Ali for an official visit this weekend. 

Well, Texas may not be done in the 2026 class. 

EDGE Damaad Lewis remains on the radar for the Horns, he tells me. 

LaAllen Clark has remained in contact with the Myers Park HS (Charlotte, NC) prospect over the last couple of weeks. Lewis dropped a final five back in August, which consisted of Texas, Texas A&M, Washington, NC State and USC.

While an official visit is not currently locked in yet, it is something being discussed. The final signing day begins February 4th.

Lewis previously signed to Florida State, but was released from his paperwork earlier in January  

 

He currently lives up in North Carolina with his brother, Damien Lewis, who was a member of the LSU 2019 National Title team and currently is a member of the Carolina Panthers.

I remember him being an early name to know this time last year and then things seemed to fizzle out.

 

Would be a solid pickup if the kid is good with being developed and sitting for a few years.

Damaad seems to be pretty capable as a WR too!  Goal line, anyone??

There seems to be another good DL on his Junior highlights.  Anyone know who he might be??

OK, just viewed Damaad  Lewis' 2025 mid season highlights.  Athletic as hell and persistent too!  His Junior tape teammate DL seems to be gone, sadly. 

Texas offered him in January of 2025 when Jeff Banks made a run through the Tar Heel State.

But was more of a "soft offer" to monitor.
