Is there any substance behind this besides he’s from Austin and we desperately need someone like him?

Hopes and dreams as usual that’ll turn into doom and gloom when he decides to stay at indiana.

It's the Austin thing, the Westlake deal, us desperately needing someone at his position and Indiana bringing in another guard to presumably move him to center.

There is a lot of silence from the mods and clear implication that we've been waiting for this guy to play his game. I bet him being the #1 target is 100% legit.

Now will he actually do it, or follow the path of the Michigan guys? I'll believe that when I see it.

Great post we have Kyle flood so it won’t happen

Is he in the portal? If he goes in, would be nice. He could show our team his ring.

Would look amazing in Burnt Orange next season!

When and if he goes in the portal. Wake me up.

There have been ZERO substantial reports of him even entertaining entering the portal. Yes I saw Bobby’s “no comment,” comment, on the commitment video.

Ruh-roh.

I mentioned several times it's unlikely Indiana's Lynch would transfer, as he's likely slated to transition from Guard to Center (which I think would improve his questionable NFL draft stock).  Lynch is not in the portal (yet) but there is an undercurrent (more like a low murmur) starting to build of him potentially leaving for Texas.  I'd complain about tampering but let's face it, every team is doing it (including Indiana).  We already lost Baby Mendoza to Ga Tech about 7 minutes after he entered the portal (this case of tampering has been swirling for almost a week now).

They're cool with Mendoza as his brother just won them a Natty, and he wasn't going to start next year.  Doubt they are that cool with their starting center leaving.

Yep, it would be problematic.  IU received some good news with LT Carter Smith intending to return.  If Lynch stays, IU will return 3 O-Line starters + the addition of Brunner.  If Lynch leaves it's more than a small problem.

This might be the first this example this cycle of an opportunity for Texas to offer something other than a mountain of money to a player comfortable elsewhere. The triumphant homecoming angle is something that was not available in the Michigan OL recruitments

“… calling it “absolutely not true” and insisting that no such directive existed. “We’re having a blast,” Kiffin said. “I love it here.”” (10 days before leaving for LSU)
