2025 San Juan Capistrano LB Madden Faraimo is headed back home to the west coast. The visit went very well for Texas and Faraimo on the weekend. Faraimo confirmed it was his second time on campus, he had originally visited in early April — a very under the radar visit that was not leaked out at the time. Texas, Notre Dame, Washington and USC are the contending teams. Following Saturday's scrimmage, the Texas coaching staff met amongst themselves on Sunday. As Steve Sarkisian described it, it's the beginning of the winnowing process. Texas will be hosting 2025 Grayson (Ga.) DL Joseph Mbatchou for a visit Septmeber 14 for the UTSA game. Mbatchou was offered by the Longhorns August 14 and quickly the two sides worked to get a visit set up. The 6–5 and 275-pound interior defensive lineman has been committed to Florida since July 31, though received an offer from Georgia this Monday evening. The late riser was born in Cameroon and received his first offer from Florida the final week of July. I arrived in Austin yesterday morning. And this place is humming. It feels like a big-game weekend here. From the airport at 8am, where I saw literally dozens of Georgia fans streaming off of a flight, to the downtown and the university areas, there’s just a buzz in the air. My five biggest takeaways following the victory over Texas A&M last night in College Station. Unfazed Kyle Field was rocking on Saturday night. It was a legitimately awesome environment to walk into with emotions running high and the stakes as high as they come for a regular season game. Though, it did not matter for Texas. The Sunday selection show was a somber one for the Texas Longhorns. Just 18 hours or so after the loss in overtime to Georgia, the Texas football team had to put their smiling faces on and gather for the College Football Playoff selection show. Former Utah punter Jack Bouwmeester tells OTF that he is in Austin today to visit the Longhorns. Bouwmeester averaged 44.9 yards per punt and had 17 of his punts downed inside the 20-yard line this year, including five in a single game against BYU. He was a 2nd team All-Big 12 selection this year after being named a 1st team All-PAC 12 selection a year ago. Bouwmeester will have one year of eligibility remaining. View full news story

2026 RB to know A 2026 running back inside the state line that has the full attention of the Texas Longhorns is Christian Rhodes (Richardson, Texas/Lake Highlands). Rhodes, 6-1 and 200-pounds, has been in contact with running backs coach Tashard Choice since mid-way through the 2024 season. He made a visit to Texas for the Florida game, and will be back for a junior day - whenever that is for Texas. Rhodes burst onto recruiting scene this season.
