Last week, a few readers dismissed my assertion that the Texas offense had been moving in the right direction and was becoming a consistent strength of the team. That’s understandable. I wrote and said that right after a paltry 10-point performance against Georgia. Yet here we are after a 52-37 win over Arkansas, and I’ll say the same thing again this morning. And that fact - at least to me - is as clear as day. The Texas offense has emerged as the team’s better, more consistent and more reliable unit. Steve Sarkisian Shoots Down Idea to Give Up Play Calling You can expect a lot of change on the offensive side of the ball for the Texas Longhorn offense in the coming weeks according to Steve Sarkisian. One thing that will not change is who will be calling plays. Texas head coach, and play caller, Steve Sarkisian was asked on Monday if he had thought at all about giving up play calling duties given the responsibilities of a head coach in games. Rumors are swirling that five-star combo guard Aaliyah Chavez (Lubbock Monterey) will take in the Texas WBB game later today at 1:00 PM. I can confirm, however, that this is NOT true. Chavez made the five-hour trek to Norman over the weekend to squeeze in one last visit to Oklahoma and I've been told that it went very well for the Sooners. Again, they're selling her on their offense and the fact that it's a great fit for her. Chavez will make her decision tomorrow afternoon at Monterey High School. Everything we have heard for weeks is a Bama vs. Texas decision likely with Georgia and Auburn the other OV's. And that has also been Bama having the most confidence since early May.
