  1. Notes on new 2026 OL offer Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood was in Pennsylvania and New Jersey Monday. Prior to seeing 4-star++ EDGE target Luke Wafle (Princeton, N.J./Hun School), Flood stopped by La Salle College High in Philadelphia to take a look at fast rising 2026 offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh (Glenside, Pa./La Salle College High). The 6-foot-7.25, 280-pound offensive tackle sported 15 offers prior to Flood's visit. Now he has 16 after Texas extended an offer. McKeogh was 6-7 and 245'ish a year ago and began his junior season without an offer in hand. Syracuse, Duke and Penn State all offered prior to the calendar turning to 2025. Since that…

  2. Wrapping up the month of May *** There are 10 days remaining in the month of May and then the calendar flips to June, and we all know what that means. June is headlined by three separate official visit weekends, all of which consisting of nationally elite prospects set to visit the Texas Longhorns. While historically, the Texas staff uses the month of June to catapult the current recruiting class, it also serves as the return to campus for the team itself. The Coleman brothers and Nick Townsend will arrive on campus for their first time since signing with the Longhorns. And QB Matthew Caldwell, WR Emmett Mosley V, TE Jack Endries, DL Lavon Johnson and …

  3. One might label the Texas transfer portal class from the 2024-25 cycle as lackluster if their assumption is based on how ESPN ranked the Longhorn newcomers. Defensive tackle Maraad Watson and tight end Jack Endries are the only two transfers coming into Steve Sarkisian’s program ranked among ESPN’s top 100 portal entrants. A Freshman All-American for Syracuse last season, Watson checked in at No. 66 while Endries, a Cal transfer who recorded 56 receptions for the Golden Bears in 2024, was ranked No. 90 overall. Nevertheless, the haul looks better based on how 247Sports and On3 ranked the 11 transfers. 247Sports, which has the Texas transfer portal class ran…

Five-star visitors locked for June With the news that OnTexasFootball 5-star DL/OL Lamar Brown (Baton Rouge, La./University Lab) is now locked in for an official visit June 6-8, OTF thought it would be a great time to take a look at how many prospects ranked as 5-stars are scheduled to make OV's next month. The Texas One Fund held its annual fundraiser last night with dignitaries across the Longhorn spectrum in attendance. From coaches, to players, to administrators and ardent supporters and even celebrities and politicians, like Joe Rogan and Tulsi Gabbard, it was an event to behold. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Leon Bridges and Parker McCollum were the musical guests. Held at DKR, guests were seated on the football field. It also included both live and silent auctions of donated prizes. There were trips with the various teams, wild game hunting excursions, a film viewing with Matthew McConaghey and Richard Linklater, and much, much more. The proceeds of the auction benef…

  6. Started by Bobby Burton,

As the football and basketball coaches are on the road, and the baseball and softball staffs prepare for tournament time, the future of college sports continues churning behind the scenes. Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! reported late last night that the four major conference are circulating a draft document to its members that would bind member institutions to new House Settlement rules surrounding NIL and render punishment absolute without legal recourse (i.e. a lawsuit). And if a school has state laws that are different from the conference, the school in question could lose conference membership unless they abide by conference rules. It’s a bold move by adminis…

  7. Recruiting thoughts to start the week I'm back in Texas after 12 days on the road. There was a lot learned, a number of sources spoken with and more. 1. Texas is a cool school/hot team on the trail. Dia Bell talked about, top prospects are back to responding to the question of if they would have interest in visiting Texas with "Of course, it's Texas". Kids in the Southeast Region of ages 16-18 know Texas as being in the last two CFB Playoffs, players winning awards, a lot of NFL draft picks and seeing recognizable players signing with and playing at Texas. 2. Texas leads for 4-star++ DL Kendall Guervil (Fort Myers, Fla./High). 3. Texas leads or is r…

  8. We are 103 days away from August 30th and the start of the 2025 campaign in Columbus, Ohio. That also means we are 103 days away from the true beginning of the Arch Manning era in Austin, Texas. Before we start looking too far down the line, it is time to get some takes off on the season. There is never a bad time to get some predictions off and if you have followed me for a while, you know these can vary from reasonable to completely outlandish. But let's get to it. *** Take 1: Two Longhorns with 10+ Sacks (Hot) For the first time since 2013 when Cedric Reed and Jackson Jeffcoat did it, the Longhorns see two different defenders hit the 10.0 sack …

  9. Bang!! The Longhorns are back on the board in the 2026 class with the commitment of Willis CB Jermaine Bishop! A huge win for the Longhorns with one of the freakiest athletes in the state of Texas opting to join the 2026 class. This is the second commitment for the Longhorns in a week span, both of which coming in the defense backfield as Bishop joins Edna Karr CB Hayward Howard jr. Texas hosted Bishop multiple times this semester, including his most recent trip to Austin for the Texas fan fest day on April 26. Mark Orphey and Duane Akina get a big win on the back end of their class secondary. View full news story

  10. Another! The Longhorns continue their hot stretch with a commitment from 2026 Austin Anderson DB Yaheim Riley Friday afternoon! Riley had previously been committed to Houston before a Texas offer gave him second thoughts and eventually the commitment comes as the 8th in the class for the Longhorns. Riley joins Hayward Howard Jr. and potentially Jermaine Bishop Jr. as defensive backs in the class. Riley has been recruited as a nickel and it was clear the Longhorns prioritized his game after he visited in late spring and was escorted out by the entire coaching staff, including a personal escort to his car by Duane Akina. The Austin area defensive back tr…

  11. Well, Texas took another three star recruit on Friday. Austin Anderson defensive back Yaheim Riley is not among the top 100 players in the country by any service. Even more, he’s not even ranked among the top 100 players in the state by at least one. So what in the world are Steve Sarkisian and Brandon Harris thinking? I mean, Texas should only be going after four and five stars. Right? Wrong. Just ask Cam Williams, Cole Hutson and Ethan Burke from the 2022 recruiting class. Or ask Tre Wisner and Trevor Goosby from the 2023 class. How would this Longhorn roster look without Alex January, Parker Livingstone, Ty’Anthony Smith, Nate Kibble and others fro…

  13. Texas Hoops: Sean Miller on the road seeing targets; roster update Sean Miller and staff are on the road again this week. Miller is leaving zero doubt with the Goosby family of where Austin Goosby sits on the Longhorns board in 2026. Miller and Ulric Malagi will be back at Melissa High this morning to see the 6-5.5 guard and top 35 ranked prospect in the cycle. Goosby is a Texas lean over BYU, Kansas and SMU with Alabama and Duke likely to jump on board during the May "live period". Miller is also expected to make a couple more stops in the DFW area today, possibly 2027 PF Dawson Battie (Dallas/St. Mark's). Battie is likely to be one of the first 2027 offers in…

  15. Wrapping up my time in New Orleans + Other Recruiting Nuggets A couple of quick hitters from my time in New Orleans this week after stops at Destrehan, Edna Karr, Brother Martin and St. Augustine. So much talent in the area and now, plenty of interest in the Longhorns. *** NOLA Connections Perhaps this was an oversight by me, but originally I was a bit surprised about how close everything was to one another in New Orleans. 16. Some nuggets from the boot! Last night's scrimmage between Edna Karr and Destrehan featured appearances by both Chris Jackson and Mark Orphey. *** Texas CB Commit Hayward Howard Jr. On Field Assessment: Howard checked the boxes for me. Coming into the evening, I had known about the size and length. Obviously, you cannot teach those traits and they are valuable in their own sense, but the one thing I wanted to see was the mental makeup and the natural football instincts. I came away impressed. Several times he was heard shouting downs and distances to teammates in the secondary, and a rollout smash concept on 3rd & medium was played to perfecti…

  17. Recruiting News: New Fitzpatrick OV date; Texas trending in battles Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - The Texas Longhorns knocked the April unofficial visit out of the park with 4-star++ CB/N Justice Fitzpatrick (Fort Lauderdale/St. Thomas Aquinas) last month. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder didn't hold back with his praise for the Longhorns. "I definitely had a great visit over there. Especially knowing Coach O (Orphey) already. We have a good relationship. And building a relationship with Coach Akina, knowing he's a legendary defensive backs coach." Fitzpatrick also dropped some new regarding official visits. He will make his Texas OV June 20-22, a change from the…

  18. BIG UPDATE: — After two straight series losses against Arkansas and Florida, the Longhorns look to rebound this weekend (starting tonight) against a tough Oklahoma squad. Let's just get right to the question that is on everyone's mind... Will OF Max Belyeu play this weekend? I spoke with a couple of sources just a few minutes ago and was told that nothing is certain as of Thursday morning. The good news is that Belyeu is listed as "probable" on the SEC injury report. He took in batting practice yesterday and will this morning as well. It's doubtful you'll see him roaming the outfield, but I do believe you'll see Belyeu at the …

  19. Started by Bobby Burton,

Playmakers. Touchdown scorers. Ballers. Call them whatever you want, but that’s what every great team has. And the term certainly applies to Jermaine Bishop Jr., who committed to Texas yesterday afternoon. A Willis High School product, Bishop totaled 18 receiving touchdowns as a junior with more than 1,500 yards receiving. He’s been an impact player ever since he stepped onto his high school campus. He was district defensive newcomer of the year as a freshman. He played varsity basketball and ran varsity track as a freshman, too. He’s related to some fairly good athletes, too. Try former Kansas State quarterback Michael Bishop, NBA star Jimmy Butl…

  20. Recruiting: Texas leads for 4-star++; new 4-star target Fort Myers, Fla. - The first thing I saw when walking onto the practice field at Fort Myers High Tuesday was 4-star++ Kendall Guervil wearing Texas shorts. He knew Kenny Baker was going to be at practice. But I'm not sure he knew Georgia and FSU were too. The result is the "X" is officially on the back of Texas in the recruitment of the powerful defensive tackle. Not only was Baker on hand, but area recruiter Keynodo Hudson also attended the last half of the practice. Guervil was all smiles and immediately walked over to both Texas coaches when they arrived to say hello. The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder tol…

Carlton will head to Austin to see the Longhorns the weekend of June 6–8, which was previously slotted for SMU. The move comes on the heels of LaAllen Clark visiting Temple twice in the last three weeks during spring practice. Texas ramped up the heat and are awarded with an official from Carlton. 22. Latest Word on OTF 4-Star++ Felix Ojo The latest on one of the state's top offensive linemen includes a busy summer of official visits and a continued push from Steve Sarkisian, Kyle Flood and the Texas Longhorns. 23. I just got off a media availability on Zoom with Jim Schlossnagle. Texas (40-10, 20-7 SEC) will wrap up the regular season in Norman against Oklahoma (32-17, 13-14) in a three-game series beginning Thursday. Here are a few things to file away: — Max Belyeu had a good day yesterday and, according to Schloss, he's closer to returning than last week. It sounds like a lot will depend on how Belyeu handles batting practice when the team gets to Norman later today. Schloss said they've been surprised that Belyeu is ready to be back in the outfield (the medical staff said that might be the last thing to come because of the act of squeezing his hand while using his glov…

  25. 2027 Antayvious Ellis updates recruitment, talks Chris Jackson and Texas Part of my tour throughout DFW last weekend was stopping by Crowley High School, home of one of the top 2027 wide receiver prospects in the state – Antayvious Ellis. Ellis, a 6-foot and 175-pound playmaker, currently holds 35 offers from schools across the country. During my trip to Crowley, he was unfortunately dealing with a small soft tissue strain and was unable to compete in the combine day to wrap up the week for Crowley High. However, he did speak with OTF to update his recruitment and give a look at his trip to Austin last month to see Chris Jackson and the staff. First and for…
