One might label the Texas transfer portal class from the 2024-25 cycle as lackluster if their assumption is based on how ESPN ranked the Longhorn newcomers. Defensive tackle Maraad Watson and tight end Jack Endries are the only two transfers coming into Steve Sarkisian’s program ranked among ESPN’s top 100 portal entrants. A Freshman All-American for Syracuse last season, Watson checked in at No. 66 while Endries, a Cal transfer who recorded 56 receptions for the Golden Bears in 2024, was ranked No. 90 overall. The Texas One Fund held its annual fundraiser last night with dignitaries across the Longhorn spectrum in attendance. From coaches, to players, to administrators and ardent supporters and even celebrities and politicians, like Joe Rogan and Tulsi Gabbard, it was an event to behold. Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! reported late last night that the four major conference are circulating a draft document to its members that would bind member institutions to new House Settlement rules surrounding NIL and render punishment absolute without legal recourse (i.e. a lawsuit). A huge win for the Longhorns with one of the freakiest athletes in the state of Texas opting to join the 2026 class. Another! The Longhorns continue their hot stretch with a commitment from 2026 Austin Anderson DB Yaheim Riley Friday afternoon! Riley had previously been committed to Houston before a Texas offer gave him second thoughts and eventually the commitment comes as the 8th in the class for the Longhorns. Riley joins Hayward Howard Jr. and potentially Jermaine Bishop Jr. as defensive backs in the class.
