Yesterday, Florida State and Georgia announced they were canceling a home and home series and instead looking into a single game at a neutral field. Why would they do that? Well, there’s the fact that neither team wants to subject themselves to difficult non-conference match-ups in multiple years as opposed to just one. Score one for the current 12-team format I guess. Perhaps if the number were already at 24 teams, the two programs would be less inclined to be worried about an extra early season loss. But I think the real reason is much, much different. Another quarterback will be joining the Longhorns for the summer months. 2025 McCallum QB Luke Dunham has been offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Longhorns and has accepted. The offer came late Friday night and Dunham confirmed with OTF he would be accepting the PWO and joining the team after graduation. As a senior, Dunham started 9 games at McCallum, throwing for 2635 yards and 28 TD. He also added 678 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in those games as well. View full news story

Last night freshman phenom Jonah Williams made his first start for No. 1 ranked Texas Baseball, going 2-of-4 with three RBIs. An impressive starting debut, no doubt, but even more so when you consider the fact that Williams is balancing both spring football and baseball, not to mention coming off an injury that ended his football season early. A little more on Andre Cojoe injury. I’m told that Andre Cojoe’s injury occurred during Saturday’s practice and that he was wearing a knee brace at the time. Sometimes players go without knee braces and it costs them dearly, but that was not the case with Cojoe. ** I have heard that Zina Umeozulu has picked up where he left off this spring before being sidelined by a broken hand. I know folks like to talk about true freshmen Justus Terry and Lance Jackson. But Umeozulu has been plenty good himself. He is truly challenging for playing time. View full news story

There is a tremendous emphasis on recruiting for this game in Austin, Texas on Saturday. Of course, it certainly helps that the top-five matchup between Texas and the Georgia Bulldogs will be the undisputed game of the week and will have Gameday and all of the glitz and glam that goes with that. DESTIN, Fla. -- Earlier this morning, Tennessee coach Josh Heupel emerged from a working session with his eyes slightly glazed. Heupel and his SEC coaching peers had just spent more than three hours discussing the future of college football. Along with an extraordinary list of high school prospects, Texas is hosting Stanford wide receiver Emmett Mosley V on an official visit this weekend. Gerry Hamilton broke the news yesterday. Mosley caught 48 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns as a true freshman last season. He’s an exacting route runner with terrific size (6-2, 190) and hands. Earlier this week, Mosley visited Virginia. Mosley is not considered a burner, but uses his size, athleticism and technical skills to create separation.
