An early Flipmas gift! Texas has flipped 2026 Portage Central (MN) tight end Charlie Jilek from Minnesota! A quiet process behind the scenes comes to light as the Longhorns steal away a future B1G tight end to add to their 2026 class. Jilek had been committed to Minnesota since October 1st. The 6-foot-5-inch tight end holds offers from UCF, Minnesota, and nine others. Texas has a loaded room at the tight end position and is expecting a departure of Spencer Shannon following his senior season. Edwin Joseph, a 6-0, 190-pound safety from Florida State, is making a visit to Texas today. Joseph recorded 37 tackles and three interceptions as a starting safety. Georgia, Texas A&M and Mississippi State are also involved. Joseph will be going into his redshirt junior season in 2026. Haug was on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit which went well enough to end up joining the Longhorns class after getting home and talking with his family. Interior offensive lineman Keyon Hemphill-Woods has committed to Texas on Friday evening, choosing the Longhorns over Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Auburn and TCU. The Longhorns offered the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder on the first day of spring ball last month. Texas received big news following its final spring practice, as four-star edge rusher Derwin Fields of Brookhaven (Miss.) committed to the Longhorns over Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss and Tennessee. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Fields is the ninth Texas pledge in the class of 2027. Last season Fields tallied a whopping 21 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks. DESTIN, Fla. -- Today's my last day in this touristy beach town, home to the 2026 SEC Spring Meetings for the 40th consecutive year. Yesterday was obviously not the news any of us wanted to hear. Starting running back Cedric Baxter has been lost for the season with a knee injury sustained in Tuesday's practice.
