Will Texas get in the NCAA Tournament? That's the question that now has to be answered after the loss to Chris Beard's Ole Miss team tonight. There's a lot of people that will say no. Some people that say yes. And a few that say they may not necessarily deserve to get in, but likely could or will due to circumstance. OTF takes a look at both sides of the coin. Texas Hoops: Size everywhere, more portal additions to come For years Texas fans have clamored for a roster with true bigs and size across the board. Well, Sean Miller is already proving he is your guy in that regard. The three portal additions so far are a 6-foot-8 wing/F that will be an NBA draft pick when he leaves Texas, a 7-foot center that will very likely be an NBA prospect after two years in Austin and a very athletic 6-foot-7 wing/F that shoots it from three at 39%. Part of me remains in shock this morning, surprised by the QB play we all witnessed Saturday afternoon. I did not see it coming, not this level of struggle. It reached a level of complete ineptness. Ezavier Crowell announcement thread OTF 4-star++ running back Ezavier Crowell (Jackson, Ala./High) is set to announce his commitment at around 6pm CST today. This one is expected to be Alabama or Texas, with Auburn and Georgia rounding out the four in contention. As we head down the homestretch of these two recruitments, there has been some movement. While top-rated tackle John Turntine looks more and more likely to choose the Longhorns tomorrow, the same can not be said for Mansfield Lake Ridge lineman Felix Ojo. Ojo, who has visited Texas, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Florida, Ole Miss and Utah, is expected to announce his decision tomorrow at 1pm. Portal Kombat: Texas leads for Toppin? The Texas Longhorns remain in search of one more big out of the portal to complete the 2024-25 front court and roster. There’s a lot to digest from last night. - We could spend all day dissecting what went wrong in pass protection for the Horns. - The Longhorn offensive line was clearly overwhelmed way too often. - Yet Quinn Ewers did his teammates no favors. In the face of a legit pass rush, Ewers folded as easily as a piece of paper in a book. - He repeatedly bailed backwards instead of stepping into the pocket. The college football gods did not smile on Texas yesterday. In fact only one team that ranked ahead of the Longhorns lost this weekend. Texas really needed two teams to lose - just about any two teams.
