The 6-foot-4.5, 225-pound athletic pass catcher will announce out of Texas, Georgia and Ohio State with the Longhorns having been considered the leader for weeks. Texas kicked off summer conditioning this morning, the start of the next phase of the offseason in Austin, Texas. For those wondering, S Jonah Williams will be eased into workouts over the next week as the baseball season concluded, there is a plan to give him some time to catch his breath before being thrust right back into preparation for the 2026 football season. One nugget for next spring I can share is the plan is for Williams to lift with the football teams multiple times each week despite being in the middle of the baseball season. I’m here in Destin, Fla., for the SEC Spring Meetings. Late this afternoon, commissioner Greg Sankey kicked things off with a press conference. 5-star basketball official visitor on campus OTF has learned that 5-star shooting guard Matthew Able (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Sagemont Prep) is currently on an official visit to Texas. The 6-foot-5.5 explosive guard was released from his letter of intent to Miami February 28. He has made recent official visits to Stanford and N.C. State. 5-star EDGE setting up official visit One of the top prospects on the board for Texas in the 2026 cycle is Richard Wesley (Chatsworth, Calif./Sierra Canyon). The 6-foot-5, 255-pound recent reclass from 2027 to 2026 made his first visit to Texas over the weekend. He was accompanied by his father and trainer. What a wild few days following Texas baseball. From staff changes to high school commitments to picking up portal prospects, it's safe to say Jim Schlossnagle and his team kept me on my toes all weekend. Since yesterday, I've asked some deeper questions and a few follow ups to folks based on what I was told much of yesterday. Some thoughts: - First of all, to a person, everyone said Quinn Ewers looked poised, in control, and delivered the ball with authority. - Second, to a person, everyone said the first team OL dominated the first team defensive line, particularly in pass protection.
