We're two weeks away from No. 1 Texas opening the 2025 season against No. 3 Ohio State. Camp effectively ends with today's scrimmage, and Steve Sarkisian is set to meet with reporters once the Longhorns are done. CJ and I are at the Moncrief Complex for today's availability. AUSTIN, Texas — Pflugerville Weiss four-star receiver Tre Moore took the trek down I-35 to visit Texas last Saturday, getting his first look at a new Longhorns wide receiver. “It was my first time seeing Cam Coleman,” Moore told OTF. “It was good to see someone that has my same body type, body frame, and see how they’re using him and everything. “It was a really good practice. It was very professional. We'll use this thread to track all portal news that pertains to Texas baseball. I'll start with the news I broke yesterday: Texas landed a commitment from Penn pitcher Eli Trop. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound RHP has one year of eligibility remaining. Trop has a 3.07 career ERA, along with 82 strikeouts during those three years. I know some outlets reported this happened a couple of weeks ago, but Trop originally committed in the fall, as Ivy Leagues don’t allow a fifth year. So he entered his name into the portal in October. We've sat on it until he was okay with us going public with it after the coaching change.

One of the more fun conversations I had with each Longhorn Draft hopeful in Indianapolis was getting their predictions on who will be Next Up in Austin for the Texas Longhorns. Lifetime Longhorn Michael Huff has been selected for the College Football Hall of Fame. Huff was one of 18 players selected in the 2025 class which also included Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Steve Slaton, Montee Ball and Michael Vick amongst the notable. Now that the Senior Bowls have concluded, it is full steam ahead for the NFL Combine and the campus Pro Days. Texas once again has double digit players that are hopeful to hear their name announced in the upcoming NFL Draft and with the current count, I believe they will accomplish that feat. The big question for me then becomes, can they top last year's number of 11 draftees? As I mentioned up top, we are 79 days away and mock draft 1.0 has been recorded in my books. AUSTIN, Texas — Longhorns center Matas Vokietaitis is expected to return to Texas in 2026, OTF has learned. Draft Express' Jonathan Givony first reported the news. The 7-foot big man has opted to stay with the Longhorns after his play, particularly late in the season, had suitors chomping at the bit for the Lithuanian native to enter the transfer portal. Instead, Vokietaitis is staying put, which was his preference all along. Vokietaitis came to Texas last offseason after a standout freshman campaign at FAU, which earned him AAC Freshman of the Year honors. Texas extended an offer to Austin (Texas) Westlake offensive lineman Jackson Cook on Friday during an unofficial visit to campus for spring practice. It’s a significant moment in Cook’s recruitment.
