Instead of Colorado offensive lineman Jordan Seaton visiting the Longhorns, it was Wake Forest offensive lineman Melvin Siani who signed with the Longhorns. Will Texas add to the 2026 recruiting class? The Texas Longhorns signed a Top 10 class in early December with 23 signees. At the time, there weren't any visible signs or conversations behind the scene that Steve Sarkisian and staff would add anyone else to class. Texas is back on the board on the offensive line! Former Wake Forest offensive tackle Melvin Siani has signed with the Longhorns. Siani spent 2025 at Wake Forest after two years at Temple. He spent 858 snaps at the left tackle position with Demon Deacons in 2025. This past season, Siani posted an 80.7 pass protection grade according to PFF and did not allow a sack the entire season. Siani is listed at 6-foot-6 and 302 pounds. In his career, he has 1577 snaps at the D1 level as well. Siani becomes the third offensive lineman signed by the Longhorns during the portal window, joining Jonte Newman from Texas A&M and Dylan Sikorski from Oregon State. …

Texas WR Ryan Wingo announced via Instagram story that he will be back in Austin for his junior season in 2026. Wingo and Texas had been in communication since the conclusion of the season for a new deal for his junior season and they come to an agreement on keep him in Austin. Texas has already added Cam Coleman to the room and Emmett Mosley V is locked in as well. Now with Wingo officially back, the Longhorn starting WR trio can go pound for pound with just about any team in the entire country. College coaches met yesterday at the AFCA convention in Charlotte. The primary topic of conversation was not change to NIL rules, collective bargaining or expansion to a 16- or 24-team playoff. Rather, the focus was expanding the redshirt rule. Currently players can play in four games or less and retain their redshirt. Coaches apparently want to increase that number to 9. The argument, according to folks covering the meetings, is that too many young players are trying to preserve that redshirt at a time when their team actually needs them. For the first time in 2026, Texas Baseball will take this field this afternoon at Disch Falk for the first practice of the season. The Longhorns have an absolutely loaded roster and expectations are high (including from myself). Perfect Game gave the Horns a No. 8 pre-season ranking. Personally, I think that's too low. Hook ‘Em! A huge, huge, huge addition for the Texas Longhorns comes from the signing of former NC State running back Hollywood Smothers out of the portal. Smothers had originally committed to Alabama after entering the portal in mid-December, however Texas swoops in and flips the talented back.
