According to a "clarification" penned by the Judge Charlotte Sweeney, who granted the class of 2022 a five-for-five years opportunity, the injunction she wrote on Friday does not alter "the House Settlement, roster caps, and transfer rules". So what does that mean? Yes, class of 2022 players will be granted an additional year of eligibility if they seek one. However, they will not be able to transfer to another school to play this season unless they had already entered their name in the NCAA transfer portal in January. Jordan Coleman OTF has mentioned that it's a possibility redshirt freshman left tackle Jordan Coleman may get some reps at left guard. Coleman took a few reps outside during the media window at left guard in drills. It's going beyond that, however. I was informed that Coleman got live 11 on 11 reps at left guard when practice moved to the indoor on day one. Big Opportunities for 2027 Recruiting with Final Home Games *** It has been a difficult season to host recruits for the Longhorns this season, the schedule just was not very favorable in regards to hosting opportunities. Ohio State has won the National Championship. Oh, to be a student on campus at the time of a National Title win in football. Since the addition of Georgia Tech RB Coach Norvel McKenzie into the conversation, there have yet to be many developments. According to sources, Texas sophomore receiver Ryan Wingo is now sidelined with a hamstring injury. The injury is not thought to pose long-term issues. Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer was upgraded to “probable” last night. That decreases the chances of a Longhorn victory IMO. Terrance Brooks’ entrance to the portal caught many by surprise. But not the Longhorns. What happened? Well, based on what I’ve been told and for whatever reasons, Texas decided to move on from Brooks as a definitive starter. Texas will host San Jose State CB Jayvion Cole for a visit Thursday he confirms with OTF. Cole tells me the trip to Austin will be his first visit since entering the portal Monday afternoon. Auburn is another team that is expected to receive a visit, though no date has been set at the moment. Cole also mentioned he is unsure if he will visit Michigan State, despite receiving an offer from the Spartans this morning. Cole saw 672 snaps last year for SJSU where he allowed 22 receptions on 48 targets for a 45.8% completion percentage. Over the weekend it was announced that Stanford Softball ace pitcher NiJaree Canady would be entering the transfer portal. Texas fans immediately wanted to know if the Longhorns would be interested and for good reason. This past season for the Cardinal, Canady posted a 0.73 ERA and 337 strikeouts with only 44 walks. Now, with two seasons of eligibility remaining, the Kansas native looks to find a new home. One of the main reasons, I'm told, is because she's not a fan of Stanford's move to the ACC. When Rodney Terry assembled his staff, and Frank Haith was included on the staff, the team and play style that was referenced was the 2022-23 Miami Hurricanes team that knocked out Texas in the Elite Eight.
