Quotes from notable defensive prospects who were on campus to visit the Longhorns on Saturday. *** 2026 Richardson DL Jameion Winfield "The visit was great. 3. Wanted to share quick snippets from the Texas Junior Day from this afternoon. Starting with the offensive side of the ball, defense will be posted tomorrow. Specifically, what stood out to a number of top 2026 prospects. @Gerry Hamilton, @Jeff Howe and I were all out on the scene today and the Longhorns did well based off of conversations we had after the Junior Day. *** 2026 Texas QB Commit Dia Bell "Today was really good. 5. AUSTIN, Texas — UT tight end commitment Brock Williams was back on the Forty Acres last weekend for the first time since committing to the Longhorns on May 15th. It marked his fifth visit to Texas since November. “It was good actually being there and being able to recruit now that I’m committed,” Williams told reporters on his way out of Austin. “Recruiting is fun, that was definitely the highlight.” The Longhorns hosted a pair of Texas Tech commitments last weekend, including five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster and four-star linebacker Jhadyn Nelson. “I’m after all the Tech guys,” Williams said “All the Texas Tech guys, trying to get them to flip.…

  6. Let's take a step back. Some realistic expectations and a look back to just two months ago shouldn't hurt anybody? Texas is 6–1 on the season with the lone loss come to the Georgia Bulldogs. Yes, the Georgia Bulldogs. The Same program that has won two of the last three National Championships, a team that is 51–3 in their last 3.5 seasons of football and the one that is currently the undisputed Gold Standard in all of the sport. Preseason predictions would have told us that Texas was right on pace to be the team they were expected to be. Now, I understand the bumps in the road during the season don't come always come at the same level and in some cases,…

The majority of targets remainig will announce decisions on December 4-6. On December 9, the portal window will open. That window closes on December 28. This morning, OnTexasFootball takes a look at which positions the staff will likely look at in the portal after the season. HIGH SCHOOL AND PORTAL The defensive line position is one in which OTF fully expects the staff to bring in at least one (probably two) players from the portal to go with a four man high school class. …

  8. June 2026 Goes in the History Books for the Sarkisian Tenure *** Eleven marquee prospects in the month of June announced public commitments to the Texas Longhorns. Eleven. 11. One more than 10. A fantastic month for the Texas staff, coming off of official visits and constructing a class that has soared in the 2027 class rankings. But on top of the class rankings seeing the Longhorn logo soar into the top five, I could not help but be amazed at those 11 commitments. It had to be a record in the Sarkisian era. Had to be, right? Actually, it ties a Sark record for commitments in a month. If you go all the way back to June 2022, the Longhorns not…

  10. Programs everywhere have resumed summer conditioning at the turn of the calendar to June. As we inch closer and closer to the football season arriving, we finally have a true idea of what the rosters and projected depth charts will look like for each Longhorn opponent in 2024. With that said, I wanted to take a quick look at the five biggest opponents for Texas this fall – of course those games include Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arkansas and Texas A&M. *** at Michigan (September 7, 2024) Michigan looks to be a completely different team from what the college football world saw a few months ago hoist the National Championship trophy. However, the p…

  11. Hook 'Em! The Texas Longhorns have added to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of CB Graceson Littleton out of Wiregrass Ranch HS in Tampa, Florida. Texas swoops in late in this recruitment and made a heck of an impression to pull off the recruiting win over Michigan after Littleton decommitted from Clemson at the beginning of November. At 6-feet, and 180 pounds, Littleton has a wiry frame with superb quickness and change of direction ability. According to the ranking industry, Littleton is a national top 75 prospect as well, adding to the prestige of the current class for Steve Sarkisian and his staff. The Longhorns now have two cornerbac…

  12. Another commit in the 2025 bag! Texas has earned a commitment from 2025 Port Neches Groves OL Jackson Christian. A head to head victory over Texas A&M goes live after the PNG spring game this evening in which both Kyle Flood and our Gerry Hamilton were in attendance for. The Longhorns are starting to heat up as we get closer to the summer months. Christian becomes the 7th commitment in the 2025 class, joining KJ Lacey, Rickey Stewart and Emaree Winston on the offensive side of the ball. Christian had visited Texas twice in the month of April, coming in originally on April 13 for a Texas scrimmage and then following that visit up with an unofficial back…

  13. 2025 TE Nick Townsend chooses the Longhorns! A big win for the Texas staff out of the Houston area as Townsend commits to Texas over USC, Alabama and Texas A&M. Townsend becomes the 15th commit in the 2025 class and joins Emaree Winston at the tight end position. The Dekaney product visited Texas June 21-23 for his official visit and the staff did a tremendous job at pitching the role and production of Ja’Tavion Sanders during his historic tenure as a Longhorn. At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Townsend combines necessary size at the position with elite speed, having clocked a 10.9 time in the 100m this spring. Big win for Texas who is creeping clos…

  14. Bang! Texas lands a commitment from 2026 Hough (N.C.) CB Samari Matthews! A big win on the trail for the Longhorns as they come out on top of South Carolina and Miami for the 6-foot+ cornerback. The Longhorns did a great job with the North Carolina native. Matthews and his family spent four days in Austin back in the spring where they took in two different spring football practices and were able to get a great look at the city of Austin and life on campus. In year one with the Longhorns, Mark Orphey has now landed his top three targets on the board with the addition of Matthews. Texas is now up to 18 commits in the class and Matthews joins Haywar…

  15. Another! The Longhorns continue their hot stretch with a commitment from 2026 Austin Anderson DB Yaheim Riley Friday afternoon! Riley had previously been committed to Houston before a Texas offer gave him second thoughts and eventually the commitment comes as the 8th in the class for the Longhorns. Riley joins Hayward Howard Jr. and potentially Jermaine Bishop Jr. as defensive backs in the class. Riley has been recruited as a nickel and it was clear the Longhorns prioritized his game after he visited in late spring and was escorted out by the entire coaching staff, including a personal escort to his car by Duane Akina. The Austin area defensive back tr…

  16. A big time win for the 2026 class – DB Zelus Hicks has committed to Texas! The Longhorns earn its second verbal commitment since the win in Ann Arbor a week ago and now sit with three prospects in the 2026 class as Hicks joins QB Dia Bell and WR Chris Stewart. Hicks is a five-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite rankings, and sits as a top 30 national player in three of the four major ranking services. The Longhorns were able to get Hicks on campus for a visit in the spring and doubled up with a terrific visit for the June 1 Elite Camp as well. A big win for Texas and more specifically, another victory for Texas in the prime SEC territory. View f…

  17. First fireworks of the spring! Texas earns a commitment from 2026 Klein OL Nic Robertson on his visit! Robertson projects as an interior guy at the next level and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds. Robertson becomes the fourth commitment in the 2026 class, joining QB Dia Bell, WR Chris Stewart and OL Max Wright. View full news story

  19. Another commitment in the fold! 2026 Waxahachie WR Kohen Brown has committed to the Longhorns after an official visit this weekend. Texas soared into this recruitment late, but multiple visits by the Texas staff in the spring, topped off by the official visit this weekend allow the Texas staff to overcome Notre Dame, Utah and others in this recruitment. Brown was previously committed to USC, though re-opened his commitment in April. He held 44 offers during his recruitment. Brown, a 6-foot,190-pound, playmaker has a profile for the slot at the next level, but sees plenty of time on the outside in high school. Brown joins Chris Stewart as the wide receiver …

  20. A massive win for the Texas Longhorns! 2027 Brother Martin (La.) WR Easton Royal has committed to Texas following the win over Texas A&M. Royal was on campus for the second time in four weeks last night and was able to take in the environment as a result. A decision to commit to Texas comes one day after. I saw Royal in the spring, he is a legit option for being the top WR in the country. Runs 10.3 and is spectacular off the field as well. View full news story

Haug, a 6-foot-1-inch, 220-pound linebacker held 17 offers ahead of his commitment to the Longhorns on Monday. The Houston native was clocked at 11.35 in the 100m last spring as a sophomore. 23. 2027 Manvel DB Greedy James Commits to Texas *** Hook'Em! Texas has landed its second commitment of the 2027 class with Manvel DB Greedy James. James and his parents were on campus for the Texas - Texas A&M game with his parents where the staff made him a priority from the get go. The Longhorns currently sit with two commits in the class with WR Royal Easton and now James in the boat. Two interceptions and 52 tackles line up the box score for James in 2025. He played safety and corner back for Manvel, while also returning kicks and seeing time on the offensive side of the ball as well. Offers included: Florida, Missouri, Texas A&…

  25. Add another #BigHuman to the 2025 Texas class! Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian go out of state to add OT Nick Brooks out of Grayson, Georgia as the fifth offensive lineman in the 2025 class. Texas did a tremendous job early in this recruitment and the official visit to Austin really helped distance themselves from the pack. Texas did a great job of preventing Georgia and USC from coming in late, though this will be a battle until signing day with Brooks now living much closer to Athens. The Longhorns now have five offensive linemen in the class of 2025, as Brooks joins the Coleman brothers, Jackson Christian and John Mills. Texas is up to 17 commitments…
