High school or portal?: Positions of need The Texas Longhorns staff will be back on the road next week looking to continue to close out the 2025 top 5 level high school class. The majority of targets remainig will announce decisions on December 4-6. On December 9, the portal window will open. That window closes on December 28. Hook 'Em! The Texas Longhorns have added to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of CB Graceson Littleton out of Wiregrass Ranch HS in Tampa, Florida. Texas swoops in late in this recruitment and made a heck of an impression to pull off the recruiting win over Michigan after Littleton decommitted from Clemson at the beginning of November. At 6-feet, and 180 pounds, Littleton has a wiry frame with superb quickness and change of direction ability. A head to head victory over Texas A&M goes live after the PNG spring game this evening in which both Kyle Flood and our Gerry Hamilton were in attendance for. 2025 TE Nick Townsend chooses the Longhorns! A big win for the Texas staff out of the Houston area as Townsend commits to Texas over USC, Alabama and Texas A&M. Townsend becomes the 15th commit in the 2025 class and joins Emaree Winston at the tight end position. The Dekaney product visited Texas June 21-23 for his official visit and the staff did a tremendous job at pitching the role and production of Ja’Tavion Sanders during his historic tenure as a Longhorn. Bang! Texas lands a commitment from 2026 Hough (N.C.) CB Samari Matthews! A big win on the trail for the Longhorns as they come out on top of South Carolina and Miami for the 6-foot+ cornerback. The Longhorns did a great job with the North Carolina native. Another! The Longhorns continue their hot stretch with a commitment from 2026 Austin Anderson DB Yaheim Riley Friday afternoon! Riley had previously been committed to Houston before a Texas offer gave him second thoughts and eventually the commitment comes as the 8th in the class for the Longhorns. Riley joins Hayward Howard Jr. and potentially Jermaine Bishop Jr. as defensive backs in the class. A big time win for the 2026 class – DB Zelus Hicks has committed to Texas! The Longhorns earn its second verbal commitment since the win in Ann Arbor a week ago and now sit with three prospects in the 2026 class as Hicks joins QB Dia Bell and WR Chris Stewart. Hicks is a five-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite rankings, and sits as a top 30 national player in three of the four major ranking services. Texas continues to pick up commitments in the 2026 class with the verbal pledge from Prosper punter Mikey Bukauskas. The Longhorns hosted Bukauskas for an official visit over the weekend and come out on top over Clemson, a team that was viewed as the favorite coming into the weekend. Another commitment in the fold! 2026 Waxahachie WR Kohen Brown has committed to the Longhorns after an official visit this weekend. Texas soared into this recruitment late, but multiple visits by the Texas staff in the spring, topped off by the official visit this weekend allow the Texas staff to overcome Notre Dame, Utah and others in this recruitment. Brown was previously committed to USC, though re-opened his commitment in April. He held 44 offers during his recruitment. Brown, a 6-foot,190-pound, playmaker has a profile for the slot at the next level, but sees plenty of time on the outside in high school. Brown joins Chris Stewart as the wide receiver …

A massive win for the Texas Longhorns! 2027 Brother Martin (La.) WR Easton Royal has committed to Texas following the win over Texas A&M. Royal was on campus for the second time in four weeks last night and was able to take in the environment as a result. A decision to commit to Texas comes one day after. 2027 Kingwood LB Cade Haug Commits to Texas *** The Longhorns add to their 2027 class with a commitment from 2027 Kingwood linebacker Cade Haug. Haug was on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit which went well enough to end up joining the Longhorns class after getting home and talking with his family. Haug, a 6-foot-1-inch, 220-pound linebacker held 17 offers ahead of his commitment to the Longhorns on Monday. The Houston native was clocked at 11.35 in the 100m last spring as a sophomore. Boom! A start to the 2027 class for the Texas Longhorns! Texas earns a commitment from 2027 Tustin (Calif.) LB Taven Epps has made his commitment to the Texas Longhorns Sunday afternoon. Epps, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound linebacker, recently visited Austin and quickly came away with his decision. James and his parents were on campus for the Texas - Texas A&M game with his parents where the staff made him a priority from the get go. 2027 Smithson Valley QB Ty Knutson Commits to Texas *** The Longhorns have their quarterback in the 2027 class! Smithson Valley quarterback Ty Knutson has announced his commitment to The University of Texas. The 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound three star quarterback had been someone to monitor since the middle of the season for the Horns, and following a trip to campus for the Junior Day in January, he makes his decision public to the Horns. Knutson held 14 offers, among them were South Carolina, TCU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Syracuse. Add another #BigHuman to the 2025 Texas class! Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian go out of state to add OT Nick Brooks out of Grayson, Georgia as the fifth offensive lineman in the 2025 class. Texas did a tremendous job early in this recruitment and the official visit to Austin really helped distance themselves from the pack.
