After arguably the best transfer portal run in men's college basketball this offseason, 2026-27 looks like it could be a special year for the Texas Longhorns. ESPN released its Way-Too-Early Top 25 this week, with the Longhorns checking in at No. 7, up from No. 13 earlier in the offseason. With the news today that the NCAA is pushing forward a vote for the 5-seasons-to-play-5-years rule, I wanted to check in with a source at Texas about what that means for the two players it could effect for the Horns, transfer OL Laurence Seymore and LB Darius Snow. It is the current belief that neither Seymore nor Snow would be effected by the ruling because they have already been approved by the NCAA for the additional year. Hill, a former five-star recruit from Denton (Texas) Ryan, has been projected in the second round for much of the draft process after a stellar career in Burnt Orange. Hill burst onto the scene as a true freshman on the road at Alabama, recording six tackles and two sacks.
