Top Texas targets begin June OV's with key trips Texas will not begin hosting official visitors until June 7-9 weekend, but that doesn't mean top targets for the Longhorns won't be making official visits around the country this weekend. Nearly all eyes this weekend will be in Baton Rouge with one Texas commitment and three other top targets scheduled to visit LSU. Then there is Washington with five Texas targets taking part in the Huskies huge visit weekend. The Sunshine State will also play a key role this weekend with four Texas targets making visits around the state to Florida, Florida State and Miami. Ohio State Buckeyes Dakorien Moore, WR, Dunc…

Several game times for the 2024 season have been announced for the Longhorns. There has been much discussion in regards to the Texas-OU Red River Shootout game returning to a 2:30 p.m. kickoff for the first time since 2017. That timing has since been confirmed by the University. Colorado State and Michigan times have been set in stone for some time, so looking at the schedule now, there is a good understanding of the TV slots Texas will have the first half of the football season. *** Week 1: vs. Colorado State (DKR) ... 2:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN Week 2: @ Michigan ... 11:00 a.m. kickoff on FOX (Big Noon Kickoff) Week 3: vs. UTSA (DKR) ... 6:0…

My eyes: What would be a successful class for Texas in 2025 June official visits are here! The most crucial month for Steve Sarkisian and staff in the 2025 begins today with a number of targets making visits from coast-to-coast. Texas has signed three straight top 5 level classes under Sarkisian, including on average three 5-star's per class. With the huge month of visits getting underway today, OnTexasFootball looks at what I believe would end with success by early August. Winning out for the best in state Pretty simple here, Texas has to beat out Ohio State and Oregon for Duncanville (Texas) High 5-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore. That wou…

Summer conditioning officially begins June 2. The next chapter of the football offseason is right around the corner, meaning we are also that much closer to football being played, so congrats to us for that! Steve Sarkisian in the SEC Spring Meetings mentioned the team was done in the transfer portal, unless something arrises where they cannot pass up the opportunity. Which means Texas will likely be rolling with true freshman P Michael Kern or sophomore Ian Ratliff as their punter for the season. Texas will add four members of the 2024 recruiting class and three additions out of the portal for the first workouts of the summer – finalizing the roster for the 202…

Eau Gallie, Fla., defensive lineman Brandon Brown, who is committed to Texas, has made it to LSU for his official visit this weekend to LSU. He plans to visit Tennessee next weekend, and then Texas the following week. But he has changed some other plans. Brown was slated to visit either USC or A&M the final week of June. It now looks like he will visit Miami that weekend instead. View full news story

Texas safety coach Blake Gideon offered Mansfield Timberview Nathan Tilmon a scholarship earlier today. Tilmon is 6-0, 185 and is currently committed to SMU. Tilmon had eight pass breakups a year ago and has recorded a personal best of 10.71 seconds in the 100-meter. View full news story

Let me start by saying this could change at any time… Dia Bell, QB, Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage Bell met with Steve Sarkisian prior to the camp, along with his father Raja Bell and other family members. The family also spent time with Sark and A.J. Milwee during the pool party after the camp. There is confidence on the Texas side about where the Horns stand in the race for the 6-2, 195 pounder. Bell is currently scheduled to camp at LSU June 14-15. Troy Huhn, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills Huhn and his mom were scheduled to meet with Sarkisian after the pool party today. Huhn entered today with Texas in front of his nati…

Nuggets on some of the new offers from Saturday's Elite Camp Steve Sarkisian and staff extended over 10 offers during Saturday's Texas Elite Camp. OnTexasFootball drops some Sunday morning nuggets on some of those new offers. 2026 Offers Brock "Boobie" King, DB, Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial I made a stop at Port Arthur Memorial early in the 2023 season. Word from the PAM coaching staff at the time was King, 5-10 and 170 pounds, was ahead of Jaylon Guilbeau at the same age at cornerback. Was seen as more a long term corner than Guilbeau. The one thing the PAM staff wanted to see during the 2023 season was that same "dawg" that Guilbeau has always pla…

Some quick takeaways from the Texas Elite Camp after having some time to digest the event. *** Starting with five-star North Crowley OT John Turntine III. Texas has done a mighty fine job early on in this recruitment and I have to tip my cap to Kyle Flood here. Turntine spoke very highly about Coach Flood and where Texas sits early on in his recruitment. There remains a long way to go of course, however the Longhorns have done a fine job getting out to an early start here. For all of the offers, stars and hype Turntine's recruitment has garnered so far, it was noteworthy that he was still looking forward to coming down and competing at the camp. Turntine sh…

Sunday afternoon update on Dia Bell and Troy Huhn OnTexasFootball has compiled the latest on Texas 2026 QB offers Dia Bell and Troy Huhn. Dia Bell, 4-star, Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage Bell plans to make visits to Florida State June 9, Ohio State June 11 and LSU June 12-13. OTF expects a decision shortly after those visits barring a change in timeline. Texas felt pretty confident following Saturday's visit with Bell, and his parents. The visit was Bell's second since March, and third since he was entering high school. Troy Huhn, 4-star, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills According to a source close to the 6-4, 205 pound pocket passer…

Carrying over the conversation from earlier today about standouts at the camp on Saturday. *** A big name coming into the weekend was 2026 Mayde Creek OLB Kosi Okpala. This will be a heavily contested recruitment as we inch closer and closer to the 2026 class, but it should be considered a win for the Texas staff he was in Austin and not College Station this weekend. A five-star defensive back from Georgia made it to campus for the weekend. Carrollton (GA) DB Zelus Hicks returned to campus for the second time this spring. Texas was able to parlay a spring visit with his 7v7 team into an unofficial visit with he and his mother. A really good sign for…

Summer conditioning begins Monday morning and the Longhorns will be taking the field with one more scholarship player than when the month of May ended. Steve Sarkisian awarded a scholarship to kicker Bert Auburn in front of the team during a meeting Sunday evening. Auburn was one of the Longhorns' most important pieces a year ago. No kicker in the country made or attempted as many field goals as Auburn and the Longhorns reward his contributions with a full scholarship. In 2023, Auburn went 29–35 field goal kicking and hit all 56 of his extra point attempts. View full news story

The Longhorns baseball season came to an abrupt end on Sunday afternoon following a 10-2 loss to Louisiana. Despite beating the Ragin Cajuns on Friday with relative ease, Texas turned into Jekyll and Hyde yet again and looked like a completely different team. Maybe it was due to a post-Texas A&M hangover like a couple of players mentioned in the post-game press conference. Maybe it wasn't. We'll never know, but it's something Horns fans have grown accustomed to over the course of a season that was filled with plenty of questions and little answers. One question that was asked the most over the majority of the season was what will become of Texas Head Coach David…

The Texas staff was on top of their game at the June 1 Elite Camp over the weekend, offering 14 of the camp's attendees. In total, 15 were offered on the weekend, with a 2025 offer going out prior to the beginning of the camp to Nathan Tilmon out of Mansfield, Texas. *** 2025 DB Nathan Tilmon – Mansfield Timberview HS (Mansfield, TX) Hudl: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/16283440/655036b6c11a7e045c43b8a8 Tilmon clocked a 10.7 100m time this spring. Texas 2025 class: Has to win, needs to win or could win It's finally here! Texas official visit season is upon us. That means Steve Sarkisian and staff will begin hosting more than 40 official visitors starting June 7-9 through June 21-23. And all recruits are not the same. That's the bottom line. To begin your Monday, OnTexasFootball breaks down the key visitors scheduled to be in Austin this month. Has to win Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville (Texas) High The 5-star and top ranked wide receiver in the country is as close to a "must get" recruit as there is for the Horns in the 2025 cycle. It's DFW along I-20, Duncanville High, the competition, the …

A Texas Longhorns target has made a change to a visit date. Port Charlotte (Fla.) High 4-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has changed his official visit date to June 7-9 from the 14-16th which was originally scheduled. The Longhorns were behind the push to get the Sunshine State defensive tackle on campus this weekend. That means two of the top defensive line targets are scheduled to be on campus - Josiah Sharma and Charles. June 7-9 (7) Kaleb Edwards, TE, El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge OnTexasFootball ranking: 4-star Official visit schedule: UCLA May 10-12, Washington May 31-June 2, Texas June 7-9, Auburn June 10-12, Alabama June 14-16…

Texas offered 2025 Mansfield Timberview and current SMU DB Nathan Tilmon Saturday morning. Tilmon committed to SMU on February 3rd, as the Mustang staff has done a tremendous job this cycle of getting out in front of a number of talented 2025 area prospects. Since then, he has earned offers from Arizona State, UTEP and now Texas. The next step for the Longhorns would be to schedule an official visit, which Tilmon tells me is in the works, though a date has yet to be finalized. By the sounds of things, it would not surprise me to see one locked in here in the next couple of days. "Texas is a powerhouse and I wouldn’t want to miss out on seeing what they hav…

Brandon Brown Update OnTexasFootball spoke with a person close to the recruitment of 4-star Texas commitment Brandon Brown (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie) within the last hour. Here is the latest: 1. Brown is not de-committing from Texas today or tomorrow barring a major change, flipping to LSU and ending his recruiting process. Just answering some questions being asked. 2. Brown intends to make the official visits scheduled. Tennessee June 7-9, Texas June 14-16 and likely Miami June 21-23. 3. Brown has been on the phone with defensive line coach Kenny Baker since the LSU visit concluded. 4. Brown is scheduled to speak with Steve Sarkisian t…

Zion Williams post LSU update Lufkin (Texas) High 4-star defensive lineman Zion Williams went into last weekend's official visit to LSU with the Tigers No. 1 and Texas No. 2. The visit last weekend only strengthened the Tigers chances with the 6-4.5, 325 pounder, as one would expect. Williams remains scheduled to make an official visit to Texas June 21-23. There are also official visits scheduled to Texas A&M June 7-9 and Arkansas June 14-16 prior to Texas. Williams is currently expected to make a decision the first week in July. View full news story

The latest on Tilmon this evening: Those official visits Tilmon did not mention earlier are Baylor (June 14) and TCU (June 21). As for if Texas will receive one, there issue at hand is Tilmon finding time for them to squeeze in. Texas is pushing to replace one of the scheduled officials as you would expect. Texas might be fighting a bit of a taller hill here after offering so late in the process. Tilmon has been courted by the regional in-state schools for much longer. Baylor offered April 23, 2023 and TCU offered in September. Currently, the official visit schedule for Tilmon goes as follows: - SMU: May 31 - Utah: June 7 - Baylor: June 14 …
