The Texas baseball team showed a little spine yesterday. In the rubber match between the Horns and Mississippi State, Texas went down 5-0 in the first inning. Lesser teams would have folded tent. But Texas stayed in it, and stormed back to score 9 in the bottom of the third, and eventually take the series two-games-to-one. Games like yesterday's can have a lasting positive effect on a team's psyche. IMO, remember this game. As it stands now, five-star cornerback John Meredith III has official visit dates scheduled for: Alabama -- May 29-31 Texas -- June 5-7 Texas A&M -- June 12-14 Ohio State -- June 19-21 OTF has learned that a shakeup could be made to the slate, with the Aggies visit moving to the May 29-31 slot and the Alabama visit either being called off or moved to another date. Meredith has the OT7 finals from June 12-14, making a visit that weekend impossible. In what is believed to be a last-ditch effort to retain his eligibility, Texas Tech quarterback transfer Brendan Sorsby announced yesterday that he had retained noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler in hopes of negotiating a settlement with the NCAA over his alleged gambling history. This move won’t be taken lightly by the NCAA. Kessler was the primary counsel for the plaintiffs in the historic House v NCAA case that ushered in the NIL revenue share era.
