2025 Mission Viejo (CA) cornerback Dijon Lee has released a top four for his recruitment which does not include the Longhorns. Lee's top four included Washington, Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M. Why is this noteworthy? Well, an official visit was just scheduled by Lee to Texas for June 12-14. It is the only midweek official visit locked in by a 2025 target to Texas at the moment which is also worth mentioning. Lee tells me his official visit will still take place this summer. Both sides are a bit lower on one another, yet the 6-foot-4 cornerback is still keeping Texas as an option. View full news story

The 2025 class was thought to be concluded and wrapped up for the Texas Longhorns, but a new offer was extended late Tuesday evening to 2025 Washington State LB commit AJ Tuitele. Even after signing the No. 1 class in the country during the first signing period, the Longhorn staff is still looking to add to its historic recruiting class with a potential late flip. Texas has two linebackers in the class with Bo Barnes and Jonathan Cunningham, but the position is still relatively light in terms of on-campus numbers. Tuitele originally signed with Washington State, but re-opened his commitment on December 24 following the departure of the Wazzu HC Jake…

2025 DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne talks Texas offer The Texas Longhorns extended an offer to fast rising 2025 defensive lineman Jayden-Jamal Hanne (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Catholic) Tuesday afternoon. Hanne, 6-4.5 and 275 pounds, is one of the fast rising prospects in the 2025 cycle with offers in recent days from Georgia, Florida and Alabama after visiting the trio of schools plus Florida State. He's currently on his way to Columbus to see Ohio State. The offer by the Longhorns wasn't totally unexpected after working out in May for Longhorns defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski in May. "I wasn't really surprised," Hanne told OnTexasFootball. "I wo…

Texas is ramping up the heat for a number of five-star prospects in the class of 2025. With the dead period concluding, the Longhorns are set to host a pair on Thursday for the BBQ event. A quick look at where Texas sits in the race for a few of the country's best. *** Five-Star ATH Michael Terry Alamo Heights HS – San Antonio, TX Terry will be on campus for the BBQ this week. The race for the versatile playmaker out of San Antonio included Texas, Oregon, Texas A&M and Nebraska at the beginning of the month. I do believe things have tightened at the moment to Texas and Oregon duking it out for his verbal pledge. Texas has the advantage in proxi…

Texas will be hosting 2025 Grayson (Ga.) DL Joseph Mbatchou for a visit Septmeber 14 for the UTSA game. Mbatchou was offered by the Longhorns August 14 and quickly the two sides worked to get a visit set up. The 6–5 and 275-pound interior defensive lineman has been committed to Florida since July 31, though received an offer from Georgia this Monday evening. The late riser was born in Cameroon and received his first offer from Florida the final week of July. His recruitment has plenty ways to go despite the commitment at the moment as his five offer mark is set to quadruple over the next few weeks. Mbatchou also plays basketball. View full news story

Predictions and Expectations for the 2025 Freshman Class The No. 1 ranked class in the country is a little over five weeks away from the start of their careers in Austin, Texas. With an expectation that this class will provide some juice to help assist the Longhorns over the hump and into the National Championship game in 2025, I wanted to run down my current expectations for their first season as Longhorns. 25 new faces, there will be plenty of contributors here in the fall. *** #8 QB KJ Lacey – Redshirt All in all, a redshirt year will be the plan for Lacey in 2025. Texas has been fortunate enough to redshirt its last three quarterbacks – Maalik…

Texas has added a visitor to its official visit list – 2025 Mansfield Timberview DB Nathan Tilmon. The plan is for Tilmon to officially visit Texas next week for a midweek trip June 18–20. Tilmon received his Texas offer on the morning of June 1 before the Texas staff hosted the elite camp on The 40 Acres. At the time, Tilmon had his official visits locked in for the month of June. He was going to see Utah, Baylor and TCU throughout the month, however Texas was able to sneak in a visit from one of the regional competitors. Tilmon is a 6-foot, 185-pound safety that can really fly. He carries 10.7 speed in his game and has been used as a two-way player in hig…

Was out at the McKinney spring game last night to see 2025 top Texas LB target Riley Pettijohn in action. Pettijohn was only featured in three series for the McKinney defense, but his presence was felt when he was on the field. The 6-foot-2 linebacker shows off his speed the instant he steps on the field, it was quite impressive to see when he shoots up the field into the backfield. On the recruiting front, Texas is doing everything right since his last visit. Pettijohn's official visits remain the same. Though he mentioned additional schools could be added, at the moment, only three are locked in: May 31 – Ohio State June 14 – Texas Jun…

By the time you are reading this, I am hopefully wheels up en route to Indianapolis where I am trading the beautiful 70º weather in Austin for my big jacket and some football. It's a fair trade in all reality. The Combine will feature 14 Longhorns this weekend, and there will be plenty of coverage here at OTF for you all to digest as the newest batch of Longhorns embark on thier NFL journey. To begin the journey of the Combine for each Longhorn, I wanted to highlight one specific drill for each prospect that, in my eyes, can raise their Draft value from this weekend. *** QB Quinn Ewers Drill: On-Field Throwing I almost put the weigh-in for Ewers…

The ball is set to get rolling heavily in the month of June once over 40 prospects get to campus for official visits. One of the positions on the 2024 roster that is expected to take a leap forward in production is the defensive end room. Of course, the addition of Trey Moore out of the portal and the freshmen Colin Simmons and Zina Umeozulu have created a path for the defensive end room to boast perhaps the deepest and most talented room in the Texas facility. Luckily for the future of the Texas defense, there are plenty of elite EDGE targets the Longhorns are pursuing currently to maintain the same level of elite pass rushers. *** Lance Jackson, Plea…

Texas has suffered its second casualty in the 2025 class in as many days as 2025 California OL John Mills has announced he will flip to Washington. This was the verbal pledge I had referred to earlier on The Winning Drive and in the comments today on the recruiting threads. Mills had previously committed to Texas on June 24th, though has tremendous ties to the Washington program and opts to stick closer to home for his college football days. View full news story

Texas continues to do work as the staff climbs up the west coast. An offer was extended this evening to a 2025 linebacker out of Spanaway, Washington. Zaydrius Rainey-Sale received an offer from Johnny Nansen and Steve Sarkisian this evening. The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound linebacker has been scorching on the recruiting trail as of late, picking up offers from Oklahoma, UCLA and Cal in the last week. It has been reported that Rainey-Sale will officially visit Oregon State (May 31), Washington June 7, Florida State June 14 and Oklahoma June 21. Washington has been predicted as the favorite in this race, but we will see what kind of an impression Texas can …

Texas enters year two with a huge target on their back. Of course, being Texas, you will always have a target on your back in conference play. But coming off of an SEC Championship Game appearance and back to back College Football Final Four appearances. The Texas Longhorns wrapped up the 2025 spring season on Saturday before greeting thousands of Longhorn fans on the field at DKR for the inaugural Fan Fest to wrap up the spring season. As a result, the highly anticipated 15 practices showcasing 27 first time Longhorns has concluded. Texas is going to be a popular pick for the preseason No. 1 team in the country when poll season comes around and for good reason. Led by Colin Simmons, Anthony Hill Jr., Michael Taaffe, Trey Moore and plenty of other returning stars on the defensive side of the ball, the Longhorns will turn the reigns over to Arch Manning and a fresh offensive line. 4-Star DeSoto WR to Return to Austin Saturday Texas will host 2026 DeSoto WR Boobie Feaster for an unofficial visit on Saturday. Feaster will visit Texas A&M on Friday then make the trip over to Austin while the campus is buzzing from Texas Relays. LSU had been a school to monitor in this recruitment, though after the commitments of Tristen Keys and Jabari Mack, there is plenty of room for the Longhorns to make a run. View full news story

Late Wednesday evening saw the Longhorns extend an offer to another rising California athlete – this time it goes to Brandon Arrington Jr. out of Mount Miguel High School in Spring Valley, California. Arrington Jr. possesses elite speed and combines that with a 6-foot-2 frame. This spring, the Mount Miguel standout clocked a 10.43 time in the 100m dash this spring. There is legit D1 track interest here as well. So far in his recruitment, Arrington Jr. possesses 27 offers and was offered by Georgia earlier this afternoon. Texas continues to do work on the west coast, this time it was AJ Milwee who brought the good news. View full news story

2026 Class Overview Texas sits today, June 24, at 15 commits in the class of 2026. How many more will the staff take in this cycle? That remains to be seen, though I can see upwards of ten more commits in the class when it is all said and done. Remember: Texas does not lose a lot from its senior class following the upcoming football season, so number may be a bit tighter than a given year. Looking at the next two weeks, commitments and surprises on the trail will highlight the flip of the calendar to July. With less than a week to go until that time, it is appropriate to look at where the class sits from a positional overview and what remains on the ho…

Ouchita Parish (La.) DL Dylan Berymon tweeted late Tuesday evening he would be re-opening his recruitment. Berymon had been flirting with other SEC programs with Ole Miss being the biggest contender. Berymon committed to the Longhorns on June 7th after his official visit in the summer. Now, Texas moves forward with 20 commits in the 2026 class, with Corey Wells, Vodney Cleveland and James Johnson as members of the defensive line haul. *** UPDATE 10:40 pm: Berymon tells OTF he is still “100% committed to Texas” and remains in the class. Though now more willing to listen to schools elsewhere it appears. View full news story

The focus for Texas over the next month or so will be to finalize the pieces to the 2025 class. Of course, Texas sits with 21 commits in the class and is right on the fringe of a top five ranking. With the bye week, the staff is on the move checking out those remaining pieces in the current cycle, but also able to get a headstart in the 2026 class.
