  1. On Texas Football continues to maintain that basketball coach Rodney Terry has coached his last game at Texas despite reports that there is a remote possibility that Terry could still keep his job. There are many things to consider as we wait for resolution. But first and foremost is the modus operandi of Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte and the timing of how he fires and hires coaches. For example, consider the timing of CDC's hirings of the two highest profile coaches at Texas - Steve Sarkisian and Jim Schlossnagle. Tom Herman was officially fired on Jan. 2, 2021. Steve Sarkisian was hired later that same day, on Jan. 2, 2021. As for Schl…

  2. Cody Campbell and Texas Tech coaching staff The events of yesterday were great! Steve Sarkisian got the fan base fired up and laughing at event full of Texas fans. Fans of Texas and Texas Tech had a terrific X fight to follow. Peak off-season, especially following Lane Kiffin stirring up Ole Miss a week'ish prior. When Cody Campbell sent out his tweet to Sark and CDC he presented the opportunity to ask a question that I believe needs to be addressed by Campbell and the entire Texas Tech football staff. I simply asked Campbell on X this ... "Question ... as a former college athlete at Texas Tech, are you okay with a player that bet on a team he was a part …

  7. According to a source, the court is granting the TRO and setting an Injunction hearing. So, Hutson has prevailed in the first part of the process. If Hutson receives an injunction similar to basketball players in Ohio, Hutson would be available to play football for the Longhorns this season. View full news story

  8. There have been plenty of conversations this spring in regards to which position room has the most depth, tightest competition, most overachieving youngsters or which room physically looks the best. And for the most part, those superlatives have found their way to the defensive side of the ball. Of course, the defensive line has essentially role played a fallen Hollywood star who has a crippling botox addiction with the way they continue to try and facelift the room with portal addition after portal addition. One room that has flown under the radar comparatively speaking is the EDGE room. With the return of Colin Simmons, there wasn't much concern here. Re…

  9. College Basketball Portal Thread: Roster decisions and top targets Sean Miller and staff had meetings with the current roster this week. OTF believes announcements/decisions will start to be announced in the coming days with the portal officially opening April 7. Texas has also spoken with many agents/representatives of potential targets. If there are any reports that come out about a specific player being a portal target, Texas is considering multiple prospects at every spot as the staff continues to navigate the best potential fits and making the 2026-27 roster work from an NIL standpoint. 10. College Basketball Portal Thread: Texas already at work When Sean Miller was hired last year on March 24, it was the same day the transfer portal opened. So Miller was hiring a staff, evaluating the Texas roster fully which included conversations with players to see who could fit, dealing with the continued upward movement in NIL spending across the sport and thus working from behind on building a roster for 2025-26 in a short window of time. Fast forward 368 days, and Miller and staff just wrapped up a Sweet 16 appearance in year one, a very solid high school class signed and on the way, and a year to prepare for April Madness (OTF's new name for the basketball tran…

  20. College Football Playoff Ranking Thread: Tonight at 6pm CT The latest College Football Playoff ranking following week 14 games will be released at 6 p.m. CT tonight. While the Longhorns are not expected to move up enough to get an at large spot, moving up to 12 or 13 will at least make it interesting for Conference Championship Game weekend. There are two real questions I believe the committee has to answer tonight, outside of any thoughts on Texas. 1. Should Ole Miss be in the CFP after losing Lane Kiffin and the majority of the offensive staff. The Rebels are clearly not close to the same threat in the CFP today. 2. How does the committee articulat…
