Texas Hoops: Sean Miller on the road seeing targets; roster update Sean Miller and staff are on the road again this week. Miller is leaving zero doubt with the Goosby family of where Austin Goosby sits on the Longhorns board in 2026. Miller and Ulric Malagi will be back at Melissa High this morning to see the 6-5.5 guard and top 35 ranked prospect in the cycle. AUSTIN, Texas — Colorado transfer point guard Isaiah Johnson has committed to Texas, sources tell OnTexasFootball. As OTF has reported since the transfer portal opened, Johnson is a name high on the Longhorns’ list of wants. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound rising sophomore had a standout freshman season in Boulder, averaging 16.9 points, three assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game. Auburn transfer wing and 2027 NBA draft prospect Elyjah Freeman announced he has committed to the Texas Longhorns over Miami, Kentucky, Auburn and a host of others. Failing forward. The Penn State AD, who was surreptitiously recorded during a meeting with players spouting all sorts of nonsense and juvenile double talk, literally fell into a great situation. Texas is definitely in play for the brother tandem Zachariah and Zion Branch, formerly of USC. Zachariah is a highly ranked wide receiver who is an absolute jet. After winning back to back National Championships, Mike White and Texas Softball might have just landed their biggest transfer out of the NCAA Portal. Former Florida State SS Isa Torres has committed to Texas, she announced on her instagram on Tuesday. "Howdy, I'm coming home." Torres posted. Torres had an astonishing .530 batting average in 2026, good for the 3rd highest mark of any player in the entire country. She hit 16 home runs and drove in 54 runs. Hearing more and more about offensive lineman Connor Stroh having a very strong fall camp. Stroh has started running some with the 1s on a regular basis, even when Neto Umeozulu is not pushed out to tackle. Stroh’s size and ability to move some of the bigger Texas DLs has caught the eyes of coaches. Umeozulu has been very physical in camp. But Stroh’s size is just hard to overcome, especially as Texas looks to deploy a somewhat different run scheme this season. The University of Texas will have a new baseball coach heading into the SEC for the 2025 season. Head coach David Pierce will not return following eight seasons in charge. Pierce accumulated a record of 297–162 while leading the Longhorns, including three trips to Omaha for the College World Series and regular season Big 12 titles in 2018, 2021 and 2023. In 2024, Texas finished a rollercoaster of a season with a 34–26 record, falling short as the three seed in the College Station regional after squandering a game late against Texas A&M and coming out very flat against Louisiana with the season on the line. Update on OL Laurence Seymore, the most recent commitment to Texas: Spoke to someone close to the situation. Seymore is not expected to join Texas until summertime. He is finishing his undergrad degree this semester at Western Kentucky. Texas has a lot of confidence that he will be granted his waiver. However, the only timetable currently for that is “sometime this spring”. He is expected to visit Texas for the first time at some point in the next couple of weeks. View full news story

Steve Sarkisian Press Conference | December 19th *** Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian will speak with the local media Friday morning. The key theme of this press conference will obviously be in regards to the hiring of Will Muschamp as the defensive coordinator at Texas.
