Braylon Hodge update Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen extended an offer to Michigan State verbal Braylon Hodge(Denver/Cherry Creek) Wednesday night. OnTexasFootball exchanged messages with the 6-3, 215-pounder since the offer was made, both last night and this morning. The Thursday AM update is the scheduling of visits to Texas being ironed out. According to sources, Texas sophomore receiver Ryan Wingo is now sidelined with a hamstring injury. The injury is not thought to pose long-term issues. 4-star out of state OL visiting today for spring practice Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic 4-star+ offensive lineman Jimmy Kalis has been on campus at Texas twice for unofficial visits. OnTexasFootball can report that the 6-7, 285-pound tackle will be back on campus today for spring practice. Kalis is a prospect that has show as much real interest in Texas out of Midwest area that Texas has recruited in a while. Texas RT Andre Cojoe to Miss 2025 Season A significant blow to the depth of the offensive line has hit the Texas Longhorns. Texas right tackle Andre Cojoe will miss the entirety of the 2025 season with a knee injury according to sources. Texas offensive coordinator and OL coach Kyle Flood stated Cojoe and Brandon Baker would be in competition this fall for the starting right tackle position. Warren Roberson to Return to Texas in 2026 *** Positive news on the retention front: Cornerback Warren Roberson will be returning to Texas for the 2026 season. Roberson had initially announced his intentions to enter the portal on January 12, though the Longhorns were able to reel Roberson back and retain him for the 2026 season. Roberson appeared in 11 games for the Longhorns this past season, totaling 187 snaps. He played a major role in the Citrus Bowl victory over Michigan, with a season high 53 snaps coming in the final game of the season. Former Texas offensive lineman Cole Hutson has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA to become eligible in 2026. The lawsuit is similar to the ones that Texas basketball players Chendall Weaver and Jordan Pope have pursued, and in Weaver's case, already received an injunction. It relates to high school players in the class of 2022 gaining a fifth year of eligibility based on both the preceding and subsequent classes also receiving five full years of eligibility. Edwin Joseph, a 6-0, 190-pound safety from Florida State, is making a visit to Texas today. Joseph recorded 37 tackles and three interceptions as a starting safety. Georgia, Texas A&M and Mississippi State are also involved. Joseph will be going into his redshirt junior season in 2026. Cole Hutson has reached an agreement with the NCAA that voids his need for an Aug. 10 court date seeking eligibility for the 2026 season. The NCAA agreed that Hutson’s situation applies the same as the Wisne case covering class of 2022 recruits, which granted the class five years to play five seasons. Hutson started at Texas as a true freshman, and eventually played in 48 games in his four-year career. The agreement paves the way for Hutson to return to the Longhorns for this season. Texas nickels Keynodo Hudson is not expected to return to the team in 2026. This is the first move of a couple dominoes expected to fall which will likely extend down to analysts as well. That move came as of Friday morning, just two days after the Longhorns defeated Michigan in the Citrus Bowl to conclude the 2025 season. According to a "clarification" penned by the Judge Charlotte Sweeney, who granted the class of 2022 a five-for-five years opportunity, the injunction she wrote on Friday does not alter "the House Settlement, roster caps, and transfer rules". So what does that mean? Yes, class of 2022 players will be granted an additional year of eligibility if they seek one.
