We are just four days away from the start of spring football beginning and for the first time in the Sarkisian era, there will be somebody other than Pete Kwiatkowski calling the defense. Texas tight end Jack Endries is off the board to the Cincinnati Bengals with the 221st pick in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. After an impressive start to his career at Cal catching passes from Fernando Mendoza, Endries spent one season with the Longhorns in 2025, catching 33 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. Endries finished the season on a high note, catching a pair of passes for 49 yards against Arkansas, four grabs for 93 yards against Texas A&M, and five catches for 35 yards and a touchdown against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl. Summer conditioning begins Monday morning and the Longhorns will be taking the field with one more scholarship player than when the month of May ended. Steve Sarkisian awarded a scholarship to kicker Bert Auburn in front of the team during a meeting Sunday evening. Auburn was one of the Longhorns' most important pieces a year ago. No kicker in the country made or attempted as many field goals as Auburn and the Longhorns reward his contributions with a full scholarship. Texas forward Nic Codie is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, OTF has learned. A source tells OTF that the Longhorns are opting to move in a different direction. Codie is expected to have a number of options elsewhere. One source close to Codie indicated that a return to Texas would not be ruled out but it would have to make sense on the Longhorns’ end. AUSTIN, Texas — Texas freshman five-star quarterback Dia Bell arrived onto the field later than the other quarterbacks on Saturday at Texas Football's Fan Day. Why is that notable? Bell walked onto the field noticeably gingerly, and without his helmet. Bell eventually put on a helmet after throwing a few passes and talking with some staff members. Texas has offered a new defensive lineman out of the west coast. 2025 Rancho Santa Margarita DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne was offered by Texas DL coach Kenny Baker Tuesday afternoon. The 6-foot-5 and 290-pound defensive lineman has earned offers from Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, and Oregon in the last three days. Needless to say his recruitment is exploding at the moment.
