Texas offered 2025 Mansfield Timberview and current SMU DB Nathan Tilmon Saturday morning. Tilmon committed to SMU on February 3rd, as the Mustang staff has done a tremendous job this cycle of getting out in front of a number of talented 2025 area prospects. Since then, he has earned offers from Arizona State, UTEP and now Texas. The next step for the Longhorns would be to schedule an official visit, which Tilmon tells me is in the works, though a date has yet to be finalized. The Chaps will now face Cy Falls in the state semifinals this upcoming week. “It leads to our goal of winning state,” the elite small forward told OTF after the win. “This was a really big game. AUSTIN, Texas — Texas defensive lineman Alex January is going into his third season with the Longhorns relatively under the radar considering he’s a guy who’s played in 21 games through two seasons on campus. One of the few 2026 prospects on campus over the weekend added to his scrap book of Texas visits. 2026 Mission Hills (CA) QB Troy Huhn returned to Austin for yet another visit, his first since the Kansas State game in early November. Huhn originally got on the Texas radar with a visit in June for the elite camp. The talented quarterback got his first look at campus – aside from just driving through it, on his trip Saturday. Of course, being able to catch the scrimmage and sit in for a meeting with the quarterbacks ahead of time were a highlight as well. Was a bit curious this afternoon after seeing the SEC Media Days and each programs' representatives were announced. 11 of the 16 SEC programs are bringing their quarterbacks which isn't too surprising at the surface. TAMPA, Fla. — Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz provided an update on injured running back Ahmad Hardy on Monday at SEC Media Days. Hardy, the nation’s second-leading rusher from 2025, suffered an offseason gunshot wound in May. “Ahmad has been medically cleared from the bullet that struck him, and he is on the road to recovery,” Drinkwitz told reporters. “The bullet did strike a bone in his body, and that has been fully healed and cleared, and today was his first day back towards a full recovery. There were not many 2025 prospects on campus over the weekend, though one that warranted a lot of attention was Jasper's Kiotti Armstrong. Armstrong was last on campus January 20 for the Texas Junior Day and made the return trip to see Texas in-person for its second scrimmage of the day. Of course, it certainly helps having former Jasper teammate, TyAnthony Smith, on campus as well. The big thing for Armstrong on this trip, however, was getting to see the Longhorns in action on the field. The Longhorns have extended an offer to 2026 OLB Kenneth Goodwin III out of Desert Pines, Nevada. Goodwin is the No. 3 ranked player in the state of Nevada for the class of 2026. At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Goodwin has plenty of frame to fill out before his college days as well. The offer was extended via coach Johnny Nansen who I expect to continue out west this weekend where he is quite familiar with the lay of the land in California, Arizona and Nevada. Texas has extended an offer to 2027 Denton Guyer defensive lineman Khyren Haywood following his performance at the Big Man Camp this afternoon. Haywood was golf carted from the camp over to Moncrief where he received a tour of the facilities and spoke with the Texas staff following the afternoon at the Bubble. The 6-foot-2-inch and 260-pound defensive lineman holds 14 offers at the moment, as the Longhorns join Oregon, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech and several others. View full news story

A recent Steve Sarkisian interview with ESPN's Chris Low resulted in a line that Texas fans should be giddy about. Sarkisian told ESPN he briefly thought about the Alabama head coaching vacancy, but due to the direction of the Longhorn program under his watch, he did not give it too much consideration.
