Summer conditioning begins Monday morning and the Longhorns will be taking the field with one more scholarship player than when the month of May ended. Steve Sarkisian awarded a scholarship to kicker Bert Auburn in front of the team during a meeting Sunday evening. Auburn was one of the Longhorns' most important pieces a year ago. No kicker in the country made or attempted as many field goals as Auburn and the Longhorns reward his contributions with a full scholarship. A Texas Longhorns target has made a change to a visit date. Port Charlotte (Fla.) High 4-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has changed his official visit date to June 7-9 from the 14-16th which was originally scheduled. The Longhorns were behind the push to get the Sunshine State defensive tackle on campus this weekend. Texas has offered a new defensive lineman out of the west coast. 2025 Rancho Santa Margarita DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne was offered by Texas DL coach Kenny Baker Tuesday afternoon. The 6-foot-5 and 290-pound defensive lineman has earned offers from Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, and Oregon in the last three days. Needless to say his recruitment is exploding at the moment. Hanne is from Germany officially, and is still relatively new to the game. A developmental prospect, but the tape shows plenty of athleticism due to a multi-sport background growing up. On Texas Football has confirmed with multiple sources that RHP Grant Fontenot is no longer with the baseball team. The redshirt sophomore transferred in to Texas last fall after pitching one season at McLennan Community College after transferring from LSU. He is also no longer listed on the Texas Baseball roster. There were not many 2025 prospects on campus over the weekend, though one that warranted a lot of attention was Jasper's Kiotti Armstrong. Armstrong was last on campus January 20 for the Texas Junior Day and made the return trip to see Texas in-person for its second scrimmage of the day. Of course, it certainly helps having former Jasper teammate, TyAnthony Smith, on campus as well. The ball is set to get rolling heavily in the month of June once over 40 prospects get to campus for official visits. Late Wednesday evening saw the Longhorns extend an offer to another rising California athlete – this time it goes to Brandon Arrington Jr. out of Mount Miguel High School in Spring Valley, California. Arrington Jr. possesses elite speed and combines that with a 6-foot-2 frame. This spring, the Mount Miguel standout clocked a 10.43 time in the 100m dash this spring. There is legit D1 track interest here as well. So far in his recruitment, Arrington Jr. possesses 27 offers and was offered by Georgia earlier this afternoon. Texas has extended an offer to 2027 Denton Guyer defensive lineman Khyren Haywood following his performance at the Big Man Camp this afternoon. Haywood was golf carted from the camp over to Moncrief where he received a tour of the facilities and spoke with the Texas staff following the afternoon at the Bubble. Texas has four games remaining in their regular season and for the month of November, it will be full steam ahead. No more bye weeks, no more time for rest. The bye week is great for a few reasons. First and foremost, the rest and recovery aspect for guys like Isaiah Bond and Andrew Mukuba allows for the Longhorns to return back to full strength. But more than that, the bye week allows for the coaching staff to focus in on younger players who are not a big part of the weekly on-field product. After coaching the Longhorns to his first win in the 2025-26 home opener at Moody Center, Sean Miller said Heide is dealing with "a shoulder situation that we're monitoring."
