Texas women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer was also part of the SEC spring meetings with his peers in hoops. Here’s some of the most notable buzz OTF collected on campus. — Texas seems to be moving the needle with four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror out of Mobile (Ala.) Vigor. Texas hosted 2025 Ruston (LA) cornerback Aidan Anding over the weekend for an unofficial visit. After receiving an offer from the Texas staff on March 28, Anding and his family loaded up the car and made the seven hour trip to Austin to watch the scrimmage live and in-person. "I enjoyed it," Anding said following his visit. "It was nice out there. They had a good practice with the coaches out there." Anding mentioned the physicality of the practice as something that stood out to him while in attendance. Former Converse Judson and Oregon defensive lineman Johnny Bowens tells me he is finalizing a date to visit Texas. Bowens was recruited by the Longhorns in the class of 2023 and ultimately ended up choosing the Ducks over Texas A&M and Texas. The 2024 season has concluded, which means the countdown for August begins now. Of course, the first day of classes for the spring semester began on Monday and the winter conditioning aspect will start up here in the next week. At some point the current teams needs a day off, right? Also, the 25 newcomers are all getting acclimated to their new campus, or for the freshmen, their first week of college classes.
