The time has arrived. Texas will be played for an SEC Championship this afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia in year one of being in the conference. Exactly where the Longhorns had hoped to be coming into the season is a reality. Regardless of a win or loss today, Texas is going to hear their name called Sunday afternoon during the College Football Playoff reveal show, but there is obviously a huge desire to hear their name called with a No. 1 or No. 2 seed right next to their name with a chance for a bye. Steve Sarkisian spoke about how difficult it is to win in the SEC and why he is grateful Texas has taken the necessary steps as the season has progressed to get…

Texas extended an offer to San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon offensive tackle Austin Attalah on Friday. The 2028 prospect, fittingly named Austin, says the Longhorns are now his No. 1 school. "I cried," Attalah told OTF. "Been a UT fan all my life." The Longhorns lead ahead of a long list of offers that includes UCLA, Oregon, Miami, LSU, and others. The 6-foot-8, 290-pounder says he's never visited the University, but he comes out to Texas to see family that live in the state in the summer. You can add the Forty Acres to scheduled stop this year. "Flood is a great dude," Attalah said. "They're excited for me to be a recruit for them." V…

It is a game unlike any other in all of college football and the stakes have rarely been higher for the Texas Longhorns. Coming into the Dallas undefeated has been a rarity of the last two decades, and coming in as the No. 1 team in the land is something that has not happened for Texas since 1984. While the Longhorns are a whopping 14.5-point favorite at the moment, everyone who has been or watched this game before knows rarely does what you think will happen, actually happen in this game. Therefore, here are my keys to the game in all three phases. *** Offense Take Care of the Football Duh. That should be the key for every game Texas pla…

For this week's OTF Sideline Debate, the staff shares our biggest Texas takeaways from SEC Media Days. Take a look! Bobby Burton Sark’s willingness to admit he has a very talented team tells me he is not shying away from expectations. And as we all know, at Texas unrealistic expectations are the norm. Sark’s not downplaying 2026 in any way, shape or form. Hopefully this group is ready to meet those expectations. Gerry Hamilton My biggest take away from Sark was what I wanted to hear going into the week: that everybody that doesn’t have a season-ending type injury, like Kaden Scherer, has been cleared and is full-go for fall practice. That mean…

U-G-L-Y I don’t have no alibi… That was just ugly on Tuesday. There was no other way to put it. Living in Tarleton country, I’ve been asked more about that game than any other this season. Yesterday I was at a track meet and probably answered the question of “what happened” at least ten times. So what happened? Simply put, Texas just never got going. Never found a rhythm. Never found much of anything, really. Look, ugly baseball is going to happen. It happens to every team, every player. Baseball is a very unforgiving game. It’s a game full of constant failure. And sometimes, the stars align, and you just look awful against an inferior opponent. …

2028 Five-Star DL Kellan Hall Reacts to Texas Camp + Offer *** One of the top players in the country for the 2028 class made his first visit to Austin on Sunday and left with an offer in hand, and some photos from a makeshift family reunion. The Longhorns hosted the No. 2 defensive lineman in the country on Sunday, Kellan Hall, out of Louisville, Kentucky. Hall attends the Christian Academy of Louisville and ended up performing well enough in the Horns big Elite Camp to walk away with an offer from the Texas staff. OTF caught up with Hall following his time on campus to get his immediate reactions, as well as to dig into what the recruiting pitch from …

Texas has taken no backseats to anyone in recruiting since Steve Sarkisian and his staff arrived in at the turn of the calendar in 2021. Coming from Alabama, where talent was basically like sand particles in a desert, to Texas where you essentially had to shake and tilt vending machines to get what you asked for originally, it was a bit of a shock for the staff. Of course, then there is the famous line from Steve Sarkisian in regards to the offensive line having almost half as many scholarship roster spots as wide receiver. Point being, there was work needed to be done and immediately so by the staff to get things to where they wanted to go. Though, as we sit he…

One of the biggest out of state visitors during over the weekend left Austin with high regards for the Longhorns and the staff following his trip on Saturday. 2025 Mandarin (FL) wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is a composite five-star wide receiver who made his first visit to Austin Saturday to catch the first scrimmage of the spring and catch up with the Texas coaching staff. "I definitely loved the vibe," Ffrench told OTF following his visit. "The people in the building (were great). I am going to have to continue to come out." Ffrench locked in an official visit to Texas while on his unofficial as well, which will be hosted June 21-23. A return this summer w…

Let's dive into some of the numbers that decided the game against Colorado State in the 2024 season opener. Of course, the largest number of them all was the 52–0 scoreboard at the end of the day. Texas fans will be pleased with that type of performance every single time, *** Quinn Ewers Passing Chart A pretty solid start to the campaign for Quinn Ewers. He was accurate, he was efficient in the red zone and he did not overextend himself. The INT is the only blemish on the sheet his week. Three drops didn't help his tally, but this was an encouraging week one for Texas and their QB1. *** Playmakers With Juice It was evide…

Kellen Wiley: The OTF rundown Seffner, Fla. - OnTexasFootball spent a couple of hours at Armwood High Wednesday to see new Texas 2025 linebacker offer Kellen Wiley. This morning, OTF provides a rundown of the recruitment of the fast rising senior. The Texas offer Pete Kwiatkowski and Jeff Banks are recruiting Wiley for Texas, with Johnny Nansen involved. Jeff Banks has recruited the area and school for a few years. That includes being part of the recruitment of former 4-star and current NFL RB Jerome Ford, who signed with Alabama. The offer came from PK Tuesday, October 29. "They spoke with my coach. Said they liked my film. They told my coach…

Torre Becton's Conditioning Program Continues to Push Competition *** Each and every offseason you hear about a change in the throughout the course of the months waiting for football to occur. A common theme that maybe isn't exactly new, but certainly emphasized more in 2026 is the desire for the competitive spirit to drive workouts in the summer. The Longhorns had a day in the sand pit on the backfields at the Denius practice fields prior to the 4th of July break that was focused solely on competition and team building. That competitive spirit returned earlier in the week with a scavenger hunt during a conditioning workout. There were 12 groups, head…

AUSTIN, Texas — Steve Sarkisian knows it won't be easy for No. 1 Texas to go into the Horseshoe and leave with a win over No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday (11 a.m., Fox). The Longhorns are trying to extend the longest active road winning streak in the country to 12 games against the reigning national champions. Avenging last season’s College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl will help Texas avoid becoming the first preseason No. 1 team in the Associated Press Top 25 to lose a season opener since 1990. An inferior roster won't be the culprit if Longhorns suffer the same fate Miami did 35 years ago, when the Hurricanes were upended by…

AUSTIN, Texas — Five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara was back at Texas this weekend for a multi-day visit. The Longhorns continue to impress the Gilmer (Texas) standout. “It was amazing,” Camara said afterwards. “I loved it. I got here Thursday night. I had a great day yesterday and this morning was just amazing. This trip, I mean, Texas is amazing from my first trip to now. It’s just something else.” The Longhorns scrimmaged in front of recruits inside DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning. Camara says new Texas right tackle Melvin Siani is “something else.” “I really loved the pro-style offense that Coach Flood and Coach Sark got out ther…

Say goodbye to the National Letter of Intent! The binding agreement to a school signed by prospects to declare their committal to a school will instead be financial aid papers and Name, Image and Likeness / scholarship agreements. It is the end of an era in regard to the NLI, however this has been the direction college football has been headed for quite some time. This move also allows for more freedom to the student athletes with coaching carousels occurring essentially at any time from December 1 to the beginning of spring camp. View full news story

The returning production percentages of all 138 D1 programs has the Longhorns in the top 10, just a few ticks away from the top spot. Notre Dame holds the top spot in the rankings at the moment with 72% of its 2025 production returning for the 2026 season. A whopping 77% of the defensive production returns as well. Monday afternoon recruiting nuggets The recruiting trail continues to be hot with spring games around the country getting into full swing this weekend. That means a number of Texas targets will be on campuses, especially east across the Texas state line. Texas vs. LSU for defensive linemen Texas hosted 4-star commitment Brandon Brown (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie) and 4-star top target Zion Williams (Lufkin, Texas/High) in the last couple of weeks. And the Longhorns headlined by first true meeting with Kenny Baker received very favorable returns. Now it's LSU's chance. Brown, 6-1.5 and 285 pounds, is likely to attend the LSU spring game April 13, and Williams…

Four-star 2026 safety headed to Texas Junior Day January 25 Frisco, Texas - OnTexasFootball has mentioned 2026 safety Donovan Webb (Frisco/Panther Creek) as one of the most impressive 2026 defensive backs we saw in person this season. And now Texas Longhorns have invited the 6-foot-0, 175-pound playmaker to junior day, and Webb told OTF this afternoon he plans to attend. Texas general manager Brandon Harris stopped by Panther Creek this afternoon for the athletic period workout, and made the invite.
