My five biggest takeaways following the victory over Texas A&M last night in College Station. Unfazed Kyle Field was rocking on Saturday night. It was a legitimately awesome environment to walk into with emotions running high and the stakes as high as they come for a regular season game. Though, it did not matter for Texas. The Longhorns were unphased. A turnover on downs and an interception to begin the football game, following by back-to-back touchdown drives silenced what ended up being the third largest crowd in Texas A&M history. 4-star PF John Clark Texas Post Visit Update The Texas Longhorns hosted 4-star power forward John Clark (Houston, Texas/Link Academy) over the weekend. Clark, 6-9, had a tremendous visit to Texas over the weekend. Clark's entire family made the tip from north of Houston. The university as a whole, everything going on so positively around Texas and Austin, the basketball facility and direction of the athletics program as a whole with the move to the SEC was extremely impressive. The Texas availability report has been released ahead of this weekend’s matchup against Vanderbilt. Isaiah Bond has been hobbled with an ankle injury he suffered against Oklahoma. It is odd to write "midseason" on a post ten weeks into the season, but that is how Steve Sarkisian referenced the bye week in his Monday Press Conference earlier in the week and thus, I will as well. Again, to put that into a little bit of reference here – Texas is 7–1 on the season. A couple of noteworthy bits of intel I picked up from being on the road this morning. *** I made the trip over to Pflugerville Wednesday morning to catch up on 2026 TE Jaivion 'Scoop' Martin. Martin is going to be a name to know for the 2026 class. At 6-foot-4, Martin already has the frame necessary for the next level at the position, but this spring and summer will be his first offseason devoted solely to football improvement and weight training. Boobie Feaster to Take OV to Texas this Summer 2026 DeSoto WR Boobie Feaster tells OnTexasFootball that he will take an official visit to Texas in June. Feaster was on campus Saturday for the Longhorn City Limits event on campus, taking in the third spring practice for the Longhorns. Originally, there had been no plans for an official visit in the summer, though that changed for Feaster following the visit. Right now, the specific weekend is still up in the air. If you missed the news yesterday, the NCAA appears set to create new scholarship limits for most major sports. Football is expected to move from 85 to 105 scholarships. Baseball will move up to 34. Men’s basketball looks like it will add two spots. Women’s softball gains 13 new spots and volleyball adds 6. So what does all this mean?
