Tuesday lunchtime recruiting nuggets The Texas Longhorns continue to work to expand the recruiting footprint in the state of California with the addition of Johnny Nansen to the staff. In the last two days, two of the top defensive prospects on the West Coast have announced official visit dates to Texas in June. The two latest prospects in the 2025 cycle from California to lock in OV's are 4-star CB Dijon Lee (Mission Viejo, Cali./High) and 4-star LB Madden Faraimo (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./J Serra Catholic). A couple of nuggets on this fine Tuesday morning. *** I exchanged messages with some folks this morning in regards to 2025 Folsom DL Josiah Sharma. OTF's Gerry Hamilton has done a great job with this recruitment. The big concern coming into the weekend was Alabama being able to use its preexisting relationship with Sharma to get the edge over the efforts Texas has been working on the last six months. Of course, Sharma was committed to Washington when DeBoer and his staff were still at UDub. Since the visit, the word I have received is more favorable to the Longhorns than it has been for Alabama. Updates from the Recruiting Trail *** Movement for 2026 In-State EDGE I continue to hear positives regarding Temple EDGE Jamarion Carlton. With Texas bringing in a talented group of edge rushers this weekend, the picture will be much clearer for where the Horns want to go at the position for the 2026 cycle. However, Carlton and Texas continue to move in a positive direction following multiple school visits in the spring by LaAllen Clark, followed up by the official visit over the weekend. While top-rated tackle John Turntine looks more and more likely to choose the Longhorns tomorrow, the same can not be said for Mansfield Lake Ridge lineman Felix Ojo.
