Texas up to 54 June official visitors with more to be added The Texas Longhorns are up to 54 confirmed June official visitors with the recent additions of offensive tackle Ka'lel Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller) and SMU defensive tackle pledge Amari Vickerson (Cypress, Texas/Ranch). The staff has built out the OV list to include double digit offensive line, defensive line and defensive back June visitors. I’ve spoken to a multitude of folks over the past three weeks of practice. There are several major trendlines that are becoming more than just hyperbole. 1. The Overall Talent I have not spoken to a single “outsider” who has attended a practice who has not come away saying that this is the most physically gifted Texas team they have seen in recent memory. At this point, it’s not hyperbole. It’s reality. The team Texas has assembled is as talented as they come. Interior offensive lineman Keyon Hemphill-Woods will announce his commitment on Friday, April 10, at 6p.m. CT. The Columbus (Texas) product will choose between Auburn, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. The Longhorns offered the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder on the first day of spring ball last month. Texas added its first offensive line commitment last week in Austin Westlake's Jackson Cook, also an interior offensive lineman. 2027 LB Mikahi Allen Working on Texas OV *** Texas hosted 2027 LB Mikahi Allen out of Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey late last week for a spring practice. Allen tells On Texas Football that he is "working on" scheduling an official visit in the summer for a return trip to see the Longhorns. The 6-foot-2-inch, 225-pound linebacker is currently rated as a four-star prospect and top-225 player in the class of 2027 by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Four-star running back Micah Rhodes tells OTF he'll be back at Texas on April 18 for the Orange-White game. This will mark his third visit to the Forty Acres this spring. Couple of Recruiting Nuggets *** New 2027 OL to Monitor Texas hosted a new name on the 2027 offensive line front over the weekend. North Shore OL Abdus Kone was on campus April 3rd for the Longhorns scrimmage on Friday night. The 6-foot-6-inch, 330-pound offensive lineman holds five offers at the moment – from Kansas State, Colorado, Houston, Lamar and Sac State being the teams in the race at the moment. Kone told OTF following the visit that he is looking to return to Austin again on an official visit. Dailyn Swain enters NBA Draft while maintaining eligibility Dailyn Swain announced he is entering the 2026 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility, which would keep the door open for a potential return to Texas for a final season. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound versatile wing/forward is a projected/possible first round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Swain’s agent Richie Beda of WME has been in constant contact with the Texas staff, and they are all in lock step in this process. The Longhorns offered the Richardson (Texas) product after a Junior Day visit earlier this year. 2027 Lakeview Centennial CB Montre Jackson will be on campus this weekend for the Longhorns 12th spring practice. Jackson has been a name frequently mentioned around the top of the corners board in the ‘27 class. I spoke with Jackson about a month ago at his second track meet of the year where he mentioned the Longhorns were in his top group along with Tennessee, Texas Tech, SMU and Penn State was lingering around as well. Texas hosted Miami (Fla.) Coral Gables defensive lineman Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui last weekend for an unofficial visit. It was a makeup trip for the talented 6-foot-2.5, 295-pounder after his flight got cancelled earlier this month. ESPN went around the SEC and surveyed coaches and GMs about each program's top newcomer for 2026. To no surprise for Texas, it was Auburn wide receiver transfer Cam Coleman.
