Texas Hosting former Georgia OL *** A new offensive line prospect has emerged out of the portal. Texas is hosting former Georgia offensive guard Jamal Meriweather for a visit Friday morning, On Texas Football has learned. Meriweather appeared in 12 games as a reserve in 2025, and has a career snap count of 77 through three years in Athens. The redshirt sophomore is listed at 6-feet-7-inches and 305 pounds. In his 56 snaps in 2025, Meriweather saw 34 come at left guard, 17 at right guard and 5 at right tackle. As we await a number of NFL and transfer decisions, one Longhorn is closing in on making that decision. I am told that defensive end Trey Moore is leaning to return to the Horns. Moore has been consulting with his family and others on the decision. He has gone so far as to figure out his pre-draft plans of working out in Dallas if it comes to the other side of the equation. Moore finished the year with 5.5 sacks, all of which came in the season’s final seven contests as he became more familiar with the defense and his role within it. In Steve Sarkisian’s meeting with the media yesterday, the Texas coach detailed much of his new staff. Sark talked at length about new corners coach Mark Orphey and new edge coach LaAllen Clark, as well as running backs coach Chad Scott.
