Yesterday I said the assistant coaching search was winding down quickly and that's exactly what happened, as the Longhorns have hired Oregon's Jack Marder and former Texas/Texas A&M assistant Caleb Longley. Hook ‘Em! A huge, huge, huge addition for the Texas Longhorns comes from the signing of former NC State running back Hollywood Smothers out of the portal. Smothers had originally committed to Alabama after entering the portal in mid-December, however Texas swoops in and flips the talented back. The University of Texas has its sights on a new head baseball coach. Jim Schlossnagle is set to become the next head coach at Texas, as first reported by Horns247's Chip Brown.
