Texas outfielder Max Belyeu is officially week-to-week with a thumb injury, the Longhorn baseball program announced Monday evening. Sources told On Texas Football that the injury (first reported by D1Baseball.com's Kendall Rogers) will require Belyeu, who is hitting .358 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 24 games as a junior, to undergo surgery. While there’s no set timetable for Belyeu’s return, sources told OTF that there’s a chance he could rejoin No. 5 Texas (23-3, 8-1 SEC) before the end of the regular season. Across college football there are a lot of meaningful games this weekend. The biggest game is Ohio State going to Penn State. A loss would put the Buckeyes on the outside looking in for the Big 10 championship game and could potentially do the same for the CFP. In the SEC, there are some games ripe for conference disruption. What do I mean by that? Well, Ole Miss goes to Arkansas. Vanderbilt heads to Auburn and A&M is off to South Carolina. Texas Commits Locked In After OV Weekend #1 *** There were two very consistent themes from official visitors coming out of weekend one for the Texas Longhorns. For committed prospects, many scrapped the idea of visiting elsewhere following the June 5th visit. For the uncommitted visitors, there were talks of moving up decision timelines.
