Texas out of state signees under Sarkisian With the win of 4-star+ defensive back Graceson Littleton (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Wiregrass Ranch), OnTexasFootball thought it would be the perfect time to take a look at out of state recruiting under Steve Sarkisian and staff. Texas now has a combined 39 prospects signed and committed from out of state in the classes of 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. That list includes five prospects ranked as 5-stars by a company in the recruiting industry. Which state has Texas won the most recruitments? Texas OV weekend Intel: Part II The Texas Longhorns had a positive OV weekend from talking to multiple sources, as expected. Here is rundown of what I heard about the weekend. Jalen Brewster, DL, Cedar Hill (Texas) High One source said Texas will stay in the fight for the 5-star defensive tackle, because the staff believes there is a fight. LSU and Florida are expected to push for the Texas Tech pledge, too. There is also the question if the 6-3, 300-pounder truly wants to play at Texas Tech. There is more at play than just the prospect’s opinion, but the level of the SEC is inviting. Texas currently feels like they are in the fight. Brewster gave Texas the i…

Texas Portal Grade so far: A- The Texas Longhorns are off and truly running in the transfer portal with three players having joined the program for the spring and 2025 season. Steve Sarkisian and staff have added three impact winning level players from the portal thus far with a number that could grow to as many as ten long term. Texas is addressing needs in a big way with one of the nations top punters, a heavy handed zero tech to play over the ball and a fast rising playmaking linebacker. Two-time all-conference punter ... Make no mistake, there aren't many two-time and back-to-back all-conference selection players in the portal. And Texas got…

Tuesday’s Texas Pro Day was the most significant draft-related event on the Forty Acres since I shifted from exclusively covering recruiting to the team beat in 2011. Based on what the program released after Tuesday’s testing and drills, more than 120 coaches, executives and scouts made their way to campus to evaluate and meet with the Longhorn draft hopefuls. There were general managers (Nick Caserio of the Houston Texans, Brian Gutekunst of the Green Bay Packers, Omar Khan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Darren Mougey of the New York Jets, Ryan Poles of the Chicago Bears and Les Snead of the Los Angeles Rams) and six head coaches (Aaron Glenn of the Jets, Ben Johnson o…

Texas softball will have a chance to defend its national title after defeating Arizona State on Sunday afternoon, 5-0, to advance to the Women's College World Series for the third straight season. The Longhorns will look to defend their title in Oklahoma City. Texas fell down 0-1 on Friday in the Austin Super Regional, but bounced back on Saturday in a come-from-behind win over the Sun Devils, and then closed out the series on Sunday. The Longhorns were led by ace Teagan Kavan on the mound, who pitched all seven innings, allowing five hits, and striking out five. Texas was paced by Katie Stewart's four RBIs, as well as a Viviana Martinez RBI after a wild…

Steve Sarkisian Speaks on the Texas Quarterbacks *** We have reached the final week of practice for the 2026 spring session. There has been plenty of excitement as Steve Sarkisian boasted about the team speed and athleticism on Tuesday to the local media. This group of Longhorn playmakers can run fast, jump high, cut quickly and now – most importantly of all – throw accurately. Sarkisian spoke highly of the Texas quarterbacks today, starting with Arch Manning. "Come back in June 100% ready to rock & roll," Sarkisian said about the plan for Arch Manning. "He could probably be out there right now, there's no doubt about it. But I don't know what…
