We’re roughly a week away from recruiting being full blown. The Texas June Elite Camp for underclassmen is becoming the singular stop for most of the state’s best 2026 recruits. Then we have three weekends back-to-back-to-back official visits with at least 44 official visits scheduled. ** Some of the key questions we’re monitoring for the next few weeks: 1. Does Steve Sarkisian attempt to go hard for one of the young signal callers following the June Elite Camp? Either Troy Huhn or Dia Bell? 2. CDC spoke to a gang of reporters following appearances on Sirius XM and The Finebaum Show. He held court for about 15 minutes in the lobby of the hotel. OTF spoke with Houston (Texas) Dekaney and OTF 4-star WR/ATH Tanook Hines a few minutes ago. Hines met with Steve Sarkisian, Chris Jackson and other Texas coaches over the weekend. Texas told Hines they are recruiting him as a wide receiver, but defensive back is a position he could get a look at. OTF believes Texas is in an ascending position headed into the Notre Dame OV next weekend. Baylor is also scheduled for June 21-23. Hines visited USC last weekend, and Arizona State in late April. The Texas Longhorns extended an offer today to Melissa High 2026 SG Austin Goosby. Goosby, 6-6, is the younger brother of Texas backup left tackle Trevor Goosby. Goosby has been one of the fastest rising prospects nationally in the 2026 class. He has recent offers from Kansas, Alabama, SMU and Oklahoma. Other offers include Florida State and Texas A&M. Kevin Wynn Visit Update Florida State commit and OnTexasFootball 4-star+ DL Kevin Wynn (Greensboro, Ga./Greene County) will not be making the visit to Texas this weekend per a source very close to the 6-2, 324-pound defensive tackle. Texas wants Wynn to make his next visit to Austin with his father, who was not able to make the June OV. That is not possible now this weekend, so Texas and Wynn are rescheduling. Following the official visit, Texas moved into the pole position immediately for Tampa, Fla., cornerback Graceson Littleton. Littleton told coaches and players alike on the visit that Texas felt like the place he wanted to be. His commitment to Texas yesterday gives the Horns two cornerbacks in the class, and it also gives the secondary some much-needed versatility, too. The NCAA Transfer Portal has been open for a week now. Feels odd to say with how much movement we have seen from not just Texas, or around the SEC, but the entire country. But yes, only one week. Out of all positions in the 2027 Texas recruiting class, none has more question marks than linebacker. The good thing is Texas signed a great group in 2026 and feels like it hit on all three, which in turn will allow the Longhorns to be ok if they only end up with two, or possibly even one linebacker come Signing Day in December. The transfer portal can also help, but so does the following recruiting cycle.
