Bobby Burton on That SEC Football Podcast
SEC Mike can be annoying sometimes. Bobby did a great job of explaining Longhorn football. Much classier than most of Mike's guests.

Johnson ain't KD. Devastation is truth, but it's not an NBA career.

That's good stuff. What do you think about Tobin and Gerry?

True, but not interested in rolling balls for a living.

Hoops: Texas vs. Oklahoma Game Thread
To be more specific: Johnson is Moss; Chigurh is the NBA; RT is Ed Tom Bell; Longhorn homer is Carla Jean.

Watch No Country for Old Men. Watch Tre Johnson. Read talk about Johnson being some kind of world beater. After that, read Blood Meridian.

Yeah, not exactly the kind of performance you need from your star player in a clutch game. Draft talk and recruiting rankings seem to supersede reason here.

All good stuff. Biggest reason is Arch. If he's a real stud, they're toast.

Gerry’s Tweeter
Marketing company told them it's okay to harass people to make money. Another told them to worry about contemporary issues. It's all coin in the end.

Men's Basketball: Texas keeps fading NCAA Tournament hopes alive with overtime road win over No. 25 Mississippi State, 87-82
Terry still hugs. Given that OTF likes to mark OGs, who do you guys think are the original OG rappers? Some guy recently tried to hype Tupac to me. I said man, you about ten years too late. It's gotta be NWA. May have been some local guys earlier than that, but they were the first to go national. Can't be no Tupac crap.

Silas and Pro Day
4.36 in the 40. Shows great hands and rout running. Could be drafted, but probably UDFA. Oregon's Tez Johnson, who was projected as a mid round pick, only ran 4.51 and weighed 154.

OU schedule breakdown
Criminal fans admit that everything hinges on Mateer being not just good, but great, if they are to win something like eight or nine. Mateer's games against P4 teams last season were significantly worse than his games against G5 teams. Logic indicates the athleticism he showed against the Mountain West isn't likely to scale well against SEC competition. Combine that with inconsistent accuracy and it's not exactly a sure fire improvement. We'll see what hope gets them.

Interesting to see how Golden, Barron, Blue and Bond all handled business at the Combine. Did Bond and Blue hurt their draft position with arrogant 'call your shot' predictions in advance of running the 40?
Bond will be drafted. He'll have a chance to prove himself. I hope he does well.

Why do you think Sark barely used Bond in the three playoff games?

I hope Bond goes relatively high. If I'm being honest, however, I'll admit that I wouldn't draft him if I was an NFL GM.

He's not injured now. Watch his effort on the all 22 film. It's not a question of his top speed or ability. It's a question of preparation, technique and mindset. The fact that he didn't seem to know how to run his best during his 40 runs is the key here.
